Hey Bee’s! I recently ordered the angelina wrap sweater from BHLDN however I’m thinking it’s too much ivory with my ivory tulle skirt and I was hoping to find a grey sweater in the same style as the BHLDN one. We will be eloping on a glacier in Alaska and temps will probably be in the 40s so that’s why I need the sweater, I will also be wearing a scarf I bought from Antropologie. I need the sweater to be short in length and preferably be a wrap sweater as well. I’ve been looking online but I’m having little to no luck so please let me know if you have some ideas!
Here is the Angelina wrap that I bought, it’s beautiful but I’m just worried about having too much ivory:

This is the scarf I bought:

Here is my inspiration wedding photo shoot: http://www.acoloradocourtship.com/2014/04/01/ice-castles-bridal-shoot/
Please help with ideas if you can!

Lakeside003: Ballet stores have sweaters like this all the time, you might want to check out a dance store! They usually have a few colors.

That inspiration shoot is dreeeeeaaaaaamy!!! And I adore the Anthro scarf you’ve picked out, such luscious blue colors! I doubt I can be of much help in the way of wraps, but I can try…
There’s always the cardigan route (e.g. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/kate-spade-new-york-somerset-cotton-blend-cardigan/3932114?origin=category&BaseUrl=Sweaters) but it’s not wrap style…
This kinda wraps around: http://www.yoox.com/us/39486458pp/item?dept=women&tp=40539&gclid=cjwkeaiakpckbrctstkqo5ia5nesjacscikr4lpnc0agpnsukcwas4lvih7jncvwckpzriettekldbocnp3w_wcb#cod10=39486458PP&sizeId=
WOW it’s shockingly hard to find gray wrap sweaters. What?! How! Maybe you’d be better off going the cardigan route. You could always add a belt if you want the hourglass shape? FWIW, I also think the BHLDN one could be really pretty and potentially not too much ivory; it may be worth trying it out, if you can return the sweater if you don’t like it. What does your skirt look like? Is it the one in the other BHLDN photo?
Or, could you find someone on Etsy who could make one by request? Or a local seamstress?

LoveMyBrit: My gown is ivory tulle, it’s actually an empire waist with intricate blue beading on the top, but it looks really lovely with a coverup that brings in the waist a bit (except I attempted the look tying a basic cardigan in front to get the idea). My skirt is pretty similar to the one in the inspiration photo shoot, maybe slightly less full. I looked long and hard on etsy but couldn’t find a cashmere sweater even remotely close so I wouldn’t know where to start to find the right seller to custom make it. I may have to just wait for the BHLDN one to arrive and see how I feel about the ivory… at least my blue topaz and moonstone accessories and scarf will bring in color!

Lakeside003: Luckily you’ve got ~half a year to find a sweater! This one (
https://poshmark.com/listing/52fd5d7478195018720180b5) looks pretty good, it’s a BCBG sweater that’s no longer being sold. May be worth checking stores when the new season clothes come in?

Lakeside003: You could also bring in color with flowers -if they don’t freeze!

LoveMyBrit: Thanks for showing me that link! I just found that sweater on ebay for under $30 so I ordered it. That will help to compare when the BHLDN one comes in 🙂

Lakeside003: Under $30?! Fantastic! Maybe it’ll be perfect and you can be done searching, but even if you don’t love it, at least it’s cheap enough that it’ll be good for helping you decide ivory vs. gray. So glad you were able to find it on ebay!
