The price of the dress never includes alterations, unless you negotiate that somehow.  Go here and click “Find this dress.”  Then call around to anyone who carries Jim Hjelm and ask if they have it in stock.  Even if they don’t, they should be able to order it for you.

Oh also, I bought a Jim Hjelm wedding gown too.  I heard that they’re not allowed to discount his dresses.  Sure enough, I tried it on at 3 different locations and only one offered to discount it at all (and even then only by 10%).  So if you love it and have found it, just buy it!  Unless you want to try and buy it used or something…

Call around to his retailers and check for sample sales that might be discounted or check on preownedweddingdresses.com, recycledbride.com, and oncewed.com. They have several samples for sale and some brand new, never been worn options by brides who changed their minds or plans. Alterations are not included at any boutiques that I’ve ever spoken with. Best of luck! I’m a Jim Hjelm bride, too! <3

This dress will be the same price at every bridal store. It retails for $3500, and alterations will be extra. That price depends on who does the alterations–they will always be more expensive at a bridal store than a seamstress. This girl is selling one brand new, street size 8, for $2000.

@CMBurghardt:  The dress itself was about $2200 including the belt.  But I wanted a different belt.  I found a veil that matches the bottom of the dress perfectly!  I made a deal with the salon to include the dress, new belt, veil, tax, shipping, and alterations all for $3000.  It was a lot of money, but I think I got a great deal!

I’m so sorry it’s out of budget for you!  ๐Ÿ™  Could you make the replica gown work?

I tried this dress on and I think it was marked as at least that much or maybe even closer to $4000. But I didn’t like the way the cups looked on me. But the back is awesome. If you like this, there is a similar looking Allure dresss that is much cheaper, but I couldn’t find it to try on. http://allurebridals.com/Store_ProductDetail.aspx?pid=7gg9B12737843c315502

According the The Knot, it’s in the $3000-5000 price range.

@CMBurghardt:  I don’t have this dress, but I suggest that, if you really love this dress, search here for Jasmine’s Bridal like @Tangled suggested. They can make you a gorgeous replica in your size with any changes you want made (if any) for an amazing price.

I think the Allure might actually be prettier than the Jim Hjelm.
