I like the way you have the furniture set up.  My first thought was that you need an area rug.  Add the end tables if you need to but I think a coffee table will take up too much space.

Ok, I thought the picture were of your 2 options and the first thing I thought was the sectional seems crowded. But I personally like how it is set up now. To me it feels cleaner and calmer with less stuff and more room to walk. So I would keep it like it is. I don’t even think you need a table in the middle maybe just the end tables.

teacherbee01:  The sofa backs on to a wall, the love seat is in front of a window. What are the other two sides of the room like?

How do you use the room?

Have you measured the room and your furniture?

I suggest you use one of the online tools to draw out your room and try different furniture arrangements to see what would meet your needs.

Would the larger sofa fit straight across the end of the room that has the funny short wall (if so you could put a console table behind the couch (in front of the shutter).  That would ‘square’ the room so you could not be so at the mercy of the short wall.

I would move the chair so its perpendicular to the sofa and creates an L.  Hang light colored curtains on the small window that exten the entire small wall creating a larger looking window. Place table In corner with a lamp and small tree/plant behind it.  Area rug and small ottoman with legs for I front of the sofa. A nice basket with pillows and throws to the left of the chair.

How ow big is your room? Can the chair be parallel to the sofa and add a bench under the window for more seating?

No matter what you do a rug & curtains will go a long way

teacherbee01:   I figured out a long time ago that the only thing a coffee table does is collect stuff (at least the way my life goes lol).  Part of the area rug can go underneath the couch – a lot of people think that you have to be able to see the entire thing.  I wouldn’t want to cover up all that beautiful wood – just add a pop of color or texture.

I watch way too much HGTV.  🙂

teacherbee01:  there could be a couple of club type/wingback chairs with a table between.  But as I see where you have your TV, that probably wouldn’t work.

In the current set up, you could put an end table behind the two arms of the sofa and love seat.  If you have speakers you could ‘hide’ them back there.

Just out of curiousity – what is on the other side of that short angled wall?  It certainly presents internal decorating challenges.
