So, I am getting bored with my life and my FH (bless his heart) told me to learn something new. I am looking for any low-cost, legal activities which are fun to learn.
Oh, I added “legal” because I posted this on FB and my first 2 friends to respond said prostitution and murder. So, can you help a bored Bee out?
ETA: I’m also posting this here (and on FB) because I think the population on WB will have a less biased opinion of what topics I should learn up on because you do not know me from Eve!

@MmeSilverBullet: the community college in my area offers cake decorating as a class! I’ve always wanted to do it but I just don’t have the time!

Learn to play a new instrument or learn a new language 🙂

I’m actually taking the Wilton cake decorating classes from my local craft store! Great suggestion, though 🙂
Hm, I’ve heard that can get pricey as you buy more and more materials? Good though, I may have to look into that!

@MmeSilverBullet: Maybe a programming language? Sites like Treehouse and Codecademey offer lower cost/free courses in different technologies and coding languages that I think look really fun.

You can always go on websites like Coursera. They offer free courses from the top schools. They give you bragging rights by getting a certificate from a uni like Stanford and the like. 🙂

New instrument sounds $$$, but new language can be rewarding. What suggestions do you have for me? I can speak fluently: English. Also, some Spanish, French, and German!

hahaha, my FH does that for a living, I may look into it, though!
oooooh, Clicking as we …err… speak!

There are tons of continuing education classes that our local community college offers that I’d love to take….photography, calligraphy, knitting, cooking, painting, a language course. Take a look and see what they might have to offer!

Learning an instrument isn’t very expensive actually. I bought a guitar for $100 and there are tons of instructional videos online for free.

learn how to knit? make up class? photography class?

How about dancing? Fiance and I are going to sign up for dance classes this weekend and learn Bachata style dancing.

Good call. I keep forgetting there’s a CC here (it’s over 20 miles away). However, for 1 class a week or whatever, it wouldn’t be terrible!
That’s very true. OOOh I could use FH’s recorder and learn to play that? lol. I never learned in elementary school. They stopped doing it the year before me!
I already know (and do not care for knitting, lol), but make-up and photography may be cool! Good suggestions!

Funny story: I was in dance for 18 years then moved to towns where they didn’t offer dance lessons for adults. Now there’s studio opening up in the area for the fall that offers adult dance classes. I’m just so worried I’m going to be so bored in the classes because they will be so easy. Alas, I am looking into them 🙂
