Hey everyone!! So we have decided to elope in Las Vegas on September 7, 2020! Drive-thru chapel ceremony in a vintage car and then heading to The Neon Museum for some photos in their “boneyard” of old Neon casino signs! I already purchased this dress online before we decided on Las Vegas as the location. Now, I keep catching myself wondering if my outfit is “Vegas” enough. I still want to feel like myself and not like I’m wearing a costume so I’m wondering if you guys have any ideas on how to make this boho dress feel at home in flashy Las Vegas lol. I love a 60s/70s vibe so I’m into anything that feels that way, especially since Vegas has such a historic feel to it. I’m even considering a slight bee-hive hairstyle a-la Priscilla Presley. I have gold leather woven heels and a gold-toned metal headband with gold flowers and pearls that I am thinking of wearing. Still no clue about jewelry. I only wear yellow gold so I’m wondering if I just stack up the gold if that will give me the look I’m going for.. or do you guys think nix the pearls and go with something more sparkly instead? Also flower colors…? Any ideas welcome! Thanks for your help 🙂 !!

I concur with the feathers! That is an excellent idea! You could do fur instead if you prefer.

I think the bouffant style sounds like a great idea! In terms of vibe, your dress really makes me think of a full length version of this:
so what about a beehive with a white band/ribbon in it? Maybe some big round white-rimmed sunglasses too?
the neon sign graveyard sounds like an incredible place for a photoshoot too, I’m jelly!

You’re very welcome!
My turn to say thank you!

I love the beehive with hairstyle. If you want to go really retro looking… yellow and/or orange flowers (either bright or pastel) would looks really cool.

For Vegas maybe your look is too conservative? I would rock some feathers, a pair of bright (red?) Heels, a bold lip.

Oh my, what a cool thread! I don’t have any advice, but to tell you when I last went to the boneyard museum they inform you that you have to have permission to have professional photots taken there. You’re fine if you have a friend snapping cell phone pics, but if you have a dslr camera taking your pics you may want to contact them in advance. Goodluck it’ll be so cool looking, please post photos after!

Wow! It’s like you know me haha! I love these suggestions and I agree, my dress definitely has a similar feel to the first photo and I love the bouffant hairstyle she has! I think I’m just going to go in on the vintage theme and do a bouffant or half-up version of that like this:
I’m obsessed with Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding look (number four lol) and I agree, the yellow and orange flowers totally give that mid-century vibe!! I think I actually have that same poppy bouquet photo saved on my phone!
Great suggestions! I love red and I’m considering adding it to the bouquet and maybe my nails as well!
Thank you! Yes, I had to contact them to book a time slot for the day for professional photos. Will definitely be posting pics for you all after

When I think of old time Vegas I think of Frank Sinatra. If you look up Sinatra in Vegas pics you’ll see that the pearls are definitely in (both the long layered pearls and also chokers). Regardless…your dress is divine.
