Hello again 🙂
Pretty much the same story as last time, I’m still looking for a photographer and know next to nothing about how to make sure I end up with nice photos, so I come here to the more knowledgeable ladies (and gents, if any of you are here) for your opinions.
First- Erica Cummins.
Second- AJ Photography.
Third- Kath Davis.
Fourth- Liz Arcus.
Fifth- Richard Gibbs.
Who’s work do you like the best? Any opinions are appreciated!
Thanks in advance bees.

Definitely no to AJ photography. Just flat out not very good.
Richard Gibbs I’m just not going to judge… his wedding gallery seems to be mostly just couples’ portraits… this isn’t a very good gauge of how a wedding photographer will perform at all. Without a blog, I just wouldn’t even consider that photographer at all…. you really need to see a few full wedding stories from beginning to end, not just random shots taken out of context. If he has one, I’d be happy to take a look at it.
Erica Cummins is a yes… I like her style, her images look clean and professional and I like the natural colors. I don’t like the fact that her reception photos are always b&w… because I don’t like b&w, and because it’s difficult to judge without seeing the color images. But from what I can see, she would be my pick.
Liz, the indoor ceremony shots on the wedding I looked at were a little off. Also, her images tend to be a bit on the straight-on/boring side for me, and they don’t seem to have that professional polish.
Kath, I think a lot of her images look too bright/overexposed. I also see some issues with her images being on the soft side. I haven’t located any of her reception pictures yet… that is often the biggest thing to look for if you are having an indoor/nighttime reception. I would be leary of hiring a photographer without seeing some of these photos first, and I just don’t like her style otherwise. Too bright, too washed out.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if you need any further opinions/advice!

Oh wow, all great at super affordable prices except for AJ, just not my style. I love Kath Davis. Love these pictures and the price is unbeatable but then I don’t know what’s included.
Really impressed though. Because Australian wedding photography I thought was generally crazy expensive. Your options are way affordable than what I’ve heard.

@gramgeek: They all have some pretty big issues except for Erica. I honestly didn’t look at the prices… but I could tell just from the weddings I looked at that they aren’t polished pros.
Not trying to be judgemental… but that’s why.

@seAprilbride: I believe you. I’m not a photographer. But from OP’s or bride with similar photography budget perspective, I like these options to choose from. In my opinion, if she will be happy with the outcome for what she pays for, no need to go beyond what she can afford to hire a super pro with no photography issues.

@gramgeek: I agree with you to a certain extent… my advice is generally that if the bride knows the style of the photographer she’s booking (issues and all) and she believes she will be happy with similar results, she’s good to go. But since she was asking for opinions, I’m just letting her know what I think from a well-informed perspective.
It’s just a general fact that photogs charging well under the industry standard prices for pros in their area are going to have issues… I think brides need to be aware of this so that they can make an informed decision when they set their budget. Some of those issues are maybe passable… sometimes they may very well ruin your photos. But as I said, it’s all about finding something you can be happy with, whatever your price point is, and it’s different for everyone.
