My parents still live in Europe, where we’re originally from. They’re coming to the states for my graduation. Their wedding anniversary is this June. They know I’ll be getting engaged this summer, and my mom has mentioned that she read about vow renewals and would love to do one. She just left it hanging as if it probably wasn’t going to happen, but I think it would be fun to organize a surprise vow renewal for them with my boyfriend and his family. They already know his family and get along great with them. So far my boyfriend and I were considering talking to a priest at the little church where his parents got married (next to his parents’ house) and have a dinner at his parents after. It would be a small, intimate family affair. Since I’ve only been here for 4 years, I have no idea what vow renewals entail though! Can you bees help me with ideas and suggestions? I don’t even know what I or my mom should wear! Will we need a bouquet for her? Should they write their own vows (I can tell them a week before or when they come here) , or will the priest give them what to say? I’m so excited to organize this for them, but I really need your help with details and suggestions!
