I’m thinking painting the front exterior door a different color to help make our house have a little more personality. Up close, the white paint on there is kind of in bad shape. I plan to get some accessories – like large planters with tall grasses planted, something to flank the front door, and/or pillows for the bench.
So here’s our house, pale yellow with sandstone bricks:
I initially thought a dark red of some sort, but here’s the neighbors’ house to the right with the red door.
The neighbors to the left with a green door/grey house (uper cute):
What do you think? Should I stay in te “warm” color cateogory given the sandstone bricks?

I was gonna say red, or dark purple

But a different red than the neighbor? Lighter or darker than the neighbor? I just don’t want it to look the same.

I think the red makes it pop and compliments the colors of your house (very cute!!).

If you want to go a bit more neutral I suggest a rich dark/chocolate brown color. It will go with your exterior and still pop.

I’m putting in a vote for dark purple. Our neighbours have that with a white house and I think it looks super cute!

I would say a dark jewel toned purple 🙂

I would do a nice dark blue.

Red is my favorite for doors.

@sienna76: I would do a red or a hunter green. Just because the houses next to you have those colors doesn’t mean they own a monopoly on them!

@Lulume: Definitely the dark blue…..
When I first read this post, my immediate thought was RED, but seeing that your next door neighbor has red….I would want something slightly different.
The BLUE is awesome.
