- Wedding: October 2011
So after our DJ meetings last week here’s the comparison so far:
DJ #1 is a young guy, works with his fiance as a team, and was very outgoing. He went to UT and currently DJ’s in a bar on 6th Street in Austin, so he definitely would play fun music and is up on everything current. He also spins, not that I know a lot about that, but I think that’s a good thing. They are new to the wedding industry but have been recently in high demand. Downsides are, the fiance would be doing the announcements and I’m not too sure she would be able to get the room’s attention and hold it, also her voice could be less than desirable to listen to all night. In addition to that they are more expensive and 2 people=2 vendor meals instead of 1, raising the price even more.
DJ #2 is a little older, but my wedding planner refers to him as her “favorite.” He’s very professional and knows his way around a wedding. He uses CD’s to play the music off of, which freaked me out a little but apparently the sound quality is better. He is still able to fade songs in and out of each other and everything though. He said he would buy anything he didn’t have that we wanted. He is also less expensive, and would require only one meal. My only hesitation with him is he might play a little more “old” music, but the wedding planner said he’s really up on his music and plays all the current stuff.
So based on that info who would you pick??
