Hi bees! Can you help me pick my dress? I have been having a rough time bc I have done most of my shopping alone (I moved away from family and friends lately) and had over 10 dress appointments. Bonus, if I decide by TOMORROW I may get 10% off (if the dress I pick is in the trunk show)- no pressure right?!
What I am looking for in a dress: COLOR (not white or ivory, but something with golden understones), sweetheart neckline, dramatic train (the bigger the better), memorable (not exactly like a million other dresses), and that it looks flattering (I am short but don’t want to look short).
Here is my top 3 (in alphabetical order)
Dress #1- Coco Anais- Ivory lace over champagne
Pros: unique, love the color, light-weight, makes me look tall?
Cons: maybe too different?, can’t lengthen train, needs belt for sparkle, not true sweetheart after alterations (see photo 4- my face looks weird bc I’m talking), my Bridesmaid or Best Man told me the train looked tacked on and not part of the dress (which is why I stopped showing my BMs dresses)
Dress 2- Essence of Australia- oyster satin and stone tulle (one size too small)
Pros: no belt needed (lots of sparkle already), true sweetheart, easiest to walk in, different from other dresses I tried on
Cons: not enough color?, can’t lengthen train, might look weird bustled, bling doesn’t photo the way it looks IRL, kinda cuts me in half?
Dress 3: Martina Liana- Ivory lace over cognac over pewter
Pros: Color, everything I was looking for in one dress, sequins throughout, can pay extra to lengthen the train (a foot or two)
Cons: The color is more homogenous IRL but looks ombre in photos, hardest to walk in, needs belt (photo 3), extra layers make me look thicker?
