I really like the first one from the side; the touches of lace are nice. And I agree with PP that the silhouette suits you. It’s just that the side slit is unnecessary, and I’m not a fan of the deep V-with-mesh-insert neckline trend. I don’t even mind deep V necks – I just don’t get the mesh.

I actually really like Nr2 on you. I like the silhouette and I don’t care whether a style is dated; today’s dresses will be dated in 5 years too.

I hate Nr1, but not because of the silhouette (which is fine). The deep v and skirt slit are just too revealing for me.

littlepenguin99 :  You have a beautiful figure! You need a dress that doesnt overwhelm you. They may all feel overwhelming when they’re not in your size but once it’s on & clipped, you want to make sure you still see YOU. I lose you in both these dresses because there is so much going on. When you go shopping, tell the consultant that you like mermaid or fit & flair silhouette and see if she has any suggestions! They are good at their job and can sometimes pick the best dresses because they know what they look like once they’re on.  Don’t be afraid to try something different. Also, be patient! I went shopping 5+ times and tried on 10 dresses each time… it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it when you find the perfect dress!

littlepenguin99 :  The first dress is too revealing for me (low cut and slit). The second dress looks much better and appropriate.

I think the style and fit and design of #1 is fantastic. Can’t go wrong with it!

littlepenguin99 :  1. Because it has a fresher look than the second.

I second the Pronovias recommendation. However, of these two, Dress #1 by far.

l agree with pps who say what a great shape you have and could wear most styles. I don’t like no 1, too ‘try hard’ with the boob slit and leg slit. No 2 is lovely, but if you care about it being a dated style, it kind of is.

l know you say no ball gowns, but maybe consider an A line.?. There are some beautiful ones about – look at the ‘show me your wedding dress’ thread for eg.

Hope you don’t feel too overwhelmed – and don’t worry too much about what fi’s stated  preference is, unless he is a women’s fashion expert, l doubt he really knows much. He probably think ball gown means some huge princess pouf and has never heard of A line.

I don’t like these styles at all, these days everyone looks the same…why is everyone fixed on this style? Just curious:)))

That being said, not sure what other people saying – they look good on you

tess90 :  Oh I agree.  This style is THE look of 2020.  Every second bride has a mesh panel in their dress, a form fitting mermaid shape and shoe string straps. I guess some brides find the idea of being fashion forward very appealing but I can see this look being “oh so 2020” by 2025.

littlepenguin99 :  You have the most wonderful figure, so you will look fantatic in anything. Of the 2 options,  I prefer the second dress. I think it’s glamorous.

Definitely not 2, sorry, just not crazy about that bottom. 1 is a little revealing, but nice on you. You have a great figure and would likely look good in anything!

You have a beautiful figure OP and the silhouette of both  of those dresses are very flattering on you but I just don’t like the actual dresses. The first ones fabric is so thin to the point its see-through and you can actually see the seam fold right through it on your hips and thighs. I associate in my mind that thin fabric equals cheap fabric. A wedding dress is generally an expensive purchase so thin fabric that has no structure and is unintentionally see-through doesn’t equal value to the relative cost of them for the person purchasing it. I’m sure that particular dress isn’t cheap but it looks poorly made and thrown together without real intention of quality relative to price. The second dress is lovely on you but seems a little ten years ago in design. If you loved it I’d say go for it even if it’s a style that is a bit dated but you seem apathetic about both of them.

Keep looking. You’ve got an amazing figure you should wear something that makes you feel beautiful and excited to wear it. Good luck on your next shopping trip. 😊
