Hey all,

Been engaged for almost 3 months now, we moved in together at the beginning of the month and it’s been a crazy fun ride. My fiance bought me my first wedding magazine. I said from the get-go that I intended to spend more time with him and in planning our future than our wedding. Hoping yinz can help me choose a venue. I’m having trouble planning this because I’m not a girly girl and I don’t want a “fairytale” wedding. I want minimal planning and maximum fun.

Guest list: under 100 Dressy casual or semi-formal, not black tie. There will likely not be children in attendance.
Requirements:

-Saturday evening, full party till midnight
-Stick to listed dates
-Only wedding at that venue that day
-Small seated area for brief nonreligious ceremony
-Outside alcohol permitted
-No restaurant, hotel, firehall, country club, museum or public venue
-Large flat area for an adult bouncy castle
-Ample dance floor (or room to set one up)
-<30 min to a 3 star hotel with shuttle options (Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Hyatt, etc)

Strongly preferred:

-Outdoor / Barn / Rustic chic venue
-Near Campground, preferably with cabins
-Supplied linens/chairs/tables/decorations/tents/lighting (either: from one large one stop shop vendor, provided by venue OR leftover from a Friday wedding)

Things that cut costs:
-No bridesmaids or groomsmen
-No wedding favors
-No champagne toast
-Buffet dinner
-No wedding shower or engagement party
-Flowers /centerpieces not needed if outdoor/rustic venue
-No fancy rental car or party bus needed
-Cupcakes or sheet cake from Vanilla Pastry Studio (no tiered thing)

(In order of best to worst, but all are workable)

Sept 26th 2015, Oct 3 2015, June 6 2015, May 16 2015, June 13 2015, Sept 5 2015

I’ve been to weddings that range from 5K-250K to know what’s important and what’s a total waste of money. (correct answers: unlimited quality alcohol/great dj/dancefloor/free shuttles to hotel…and filet & lobster/flowers/wedding favors/champagne toast/photo booths)

I want a great deal on a private country like setting.
Only really looked at Betsy’s Barn so far – but she’s taking forever to get back to me on dates and particulars.
I’m also interested in (theoretical) venues such as a private estate in Cranberry/Wexford or Fox Chapel areas. If you’ve heard of this before, great! But I’d like a “one stop shop” vendor for tables/chairs/decorations. Does this exist?
