Hi ladies! I’m getting ready to purchase a sash before the end of the weekend here & need some input on my favorites…. First off here is the back of my dress as it’s not showing in the other pics (the hem has since been altered to make it piped/wavy- I will be wearing the same shoes but about 1-2″ shorter heels):
So let me know if you have a favorite in the poll or comments – or if theres one you seriously dislike! Feel free to reccomend any others as well, my budget is about $50. Also, any jewelry recommendations would be fabulous! I’m not sure if a super short necklace or a long dangling one would be best.
All sashes from Lucy Bridal Boutique on etsy….
#1- cutsey bow sash (maybe too cute & not elegant enough?)
#2- circles sash (I really like but not sure about the width)
#3- leaves sash (also really like but not sure if it gels with the dress)
Going with less bling & more color are the ribbon sashes- the purple pictured is off a bit, it’s a dark purple almost eggplant & would match my petticoat, flowers on my shoes above, & my hair fascinator:
#4- retro looking center bling
#5- large center bling

I like the leaves one best. Your dress is really cute!

I would do a plain sash. Either color or same color as your dress. I think adding anything else takes away from the dots on the illusion which is my fave part. You look gorgeous!

Your neckline is so pretty and unique, I feel like these blingy sashes sort of compete with it. I do like the idea of a plain purple sash and think it would be a good accent without overpowering or competing with the neckline.

I like #4 the best. Just FYI I literally ordered that exact applique for $11.99 from http://www.gloryshouse.com

I would do a plain sash or none at all because your dress is so pretty and I wouldn’t want to compete with it. Also, if you do a long dangly necklace definitely don’t do the blingy sashes.

For those saying a plain sash, I already have one and don’t particularly like it too much. It just feels too simple to me and looks like it cuts off alot of my torso….. I want some bling & my dress, shoes, & likely jewelry have none as of yet! (jewelry I’m leaning towards silver starfish as our ceremony is on the beach in mexico)

I think something more polka dot like would suit it more, maybe something with some pearly- bead like things on it.

Oh your dress is sp pretty! Of the ones you listed I prefer the 3rd one but I am still unsure if that is the right fit to compliment your dress but its my favorite of the ones posted.
I think you might need something with flowers possible? I’m thinking a floral type sash to match your shoes. Do you have a close up pic of your shoes?

@kellmerr: thank you!
@jessyrez: thanks! It was a partial DIY hair trial for me except that I forgot to tease & poof it to add volume (whoopsies)
@IzzyBear: Haa Haa! I looked at their appliques & am considering doing that & having my seamstress attach it to the purple belt I already have…

@vmec: thanks for posting that one- it’s really pretty! I don’t know why I didn’t think of pearls!!
@weddingbound: I didn’t look at many flower sashes mostly because when I search on etsy so many of them are shabby chic looking stuff which isn’t the look I want at all. Do you have a shop recommendation by chance?
Here’s my shoe closeup- I got these before we changed our plans, we are now getting married in Mexico on the beach so I just ordered the style & same color just with a with a straped back 3″ heel instead of the ones pictured which are 5.5″ w. platform closed back….

@BeckyS0: Those shoes are cute but I see why you want to change since it will now be in Mexico……prob hard to walk on the beach in those
Just my thoughts is that it would be super cute to have some sort of sash to tie in with your shoes.
I love the shop the red magnolia. I ordered a few things from her but not sure if she sould have anything that you are looking for
What about something like this? But with the flower the same color as your shoes?
Or maybe something like this with the sash the same color as your shoes?

From the sashes posted, I voted cutesy bow (which really is very cute and fun) or nothing at all. Everything else would widen your waist instead of emphasize or they’re too blah.
I do like the idea of injecting color, but I really like the sash posted by @vmec (it’s less cutesy or trendy and has more of the elegance you wanted).

@weddingbound: Thanks for those! I’m heading over to take a look at her shop now!! I love the one with the huge flower- blingy & still a pop of color… That may be the direction to go for….
