I’m a bride on a budget and went to David’s Bridal today. My favorite dresses were light and airy frocks that are more appropriate for an outdoor wedding but I need some help picking which one! I’m also only 5″ tall and I need a dress that won’t overwhelm me and that I can be comfortable in. What do you bees think?!

I love the lace dress for a garden wedding it also lengthens you since its fitted! the first one looks a bit cheapy to me.

I like the first one because it’s much lighter and seems more backyard appropriate since it’s airy and light.

Thanks ladies! I will say the pics don’t do the first one justice. There’s a really light beading on the top that looks very feminine and delicate. The lace is really pretty too, and has some sequins throughout that give it a sparkle. I just don’t know which one gives me the best silhouette? They are both on sale right now for less than 400!

the second one gives you better shape its makes you look taller too, anything with a puffy skirt will hide your shape.

I love the second!! They’re both nice but it hugs your figure really beautifully.

Bridetobe829: #2! That’s very flattering on you and looks comfortable for a backyard wedding.

Thank you, bees. The first dress is not a ball gown, but an A-line dres. I was wearing a petticoat they put me in before then so maybe that’s why it looks kind of poofy? I think the sweetheart neckline looks better on me, but the second dress is also lovely indeed. Both dresses are also way too long so they need to be hemmed quite a bit to fit my stature. Here are the links for both dresses in case anyone would like to check them out:

Definitely the first dress. I have to disagree and I think your shape is much bigger in that. I tried on that second dress and on me I felt like the horizontal stripeyness of the lace was weird.

I think the first dress is perfect. I tried on the lace dress myself, and loved how it looked in real life, but in photos it gave me a huge belly. The reviews say similar things on David’s Bridal’s website.

First dress! As someone who is also short (4’11”) I find something that is horizontally striped all the way down makes me look shorter. A line dresses tend to lengthen people. I think the first one is perfect!
