My bf and I have been dating for 3 years and I’m moving in with him this summer. He wants to formally ask me to marry him. I think it will happen soon because he asked me to plan our wedding. We originally talked about elope in Hawaii since is the 2nd marriage for both of us. However, I want our children to be there and that’s out of our budget. We now decided Mexico might be the right route, since that would allow the very few people important on our lives to be there if they choose to do. Can anyone help me pick a all inclusive resort that would be okay to my 9 and 14 years old come. What is the best one? Where in Mexico? We have never been there so we are totally clueless.

Make sure you go in the cooler months. It’s so hot in Mexico that you’ll want to go in the dry season. Humidity can ruin your wedding day.
Yucatan is a good area to start looking for accommodation.

We have been planning a cruise wedding. Getting married while we are in grand cayman (through the Island because we did not need a big hubbub about it or decorations or much of anything and it was under a third the price of going through the ship) it’s a great elopement option in my opinion, we are just bringing my best friend and his mom as our witnesses. Making it a way easier option for us(first marriage for both of us, but we didnt care for the big show of a big white church wedding)
Plus all the food and room is included already, just have to pay for booze

- Wedding: August 2019 - City, State
I went to the Maya Riveria in January 2018 and had a phenominal time! Huge resort – very family friendly, huge beach that was completely clean every day. They also had wave breakers in the ocean so it was not choppy and always safe to swim. The whole resort was on a water filtration system so we felt safe with the water as well. We stayed at the Brand Bahia Principe Tulum! Honestly one of the best vacations I’ve ever had!

Adding that our vacation starts in 10 days, we get on the ship in 12 and get married in 16!

I’ve stayed in the Mayan Riviera area around 5 times. There is a specific area called “Playacar” which has about 20 resorts on it. It’s a suburb type neighbourhood so feels very safe when you arrive, and the resorts in the area are beautiful. Cancun can be quite a party area so i’d stay away from that. Picking a Riu resort is always a great option.

We did Iberostar Tucan in Riveria Maya for our wedding and we had a few kids as guests. Lots of wildlife at the resort so the kids really enjoyed that aspect!

We went to the Pueblo Bonito in Mazatlan a few summers ago at the end of June and really loved it! The weather was absolutely perfect. We went with our nieces and nephews ages 7-18 at the time. Everyone had a blast. 😊

Hi there! I had my wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun, it’s a very popular resort for weddings, and for good reason! I would highly recommend. I would also recommend that you add yourself to the Cancun Brides facebook group. This group will be able to help you tremendously with choosing a resort and lots of other things!

We went to El Dorado Sea Side Suites in Mayan Riviera by Karisma and they were AMAZING. Highly recommend any of the Karisma resorts! (AND THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE!)

I’m in the process now of planning a destination wedding in Tulum, Mexico. It’s very beautiful and AFFORDABLE! I would recommend looking at the Dreams Resorts and Spas in Mexico there are many locations to choose from . Hope this helps.
