- Wedding: July 2012
Ok, bees! I need help making my final bridesmaid’s dress decision. My 2 bm are 14 and 16, sizes 2 and 4, and are in rural areas where they can’t try the dresses on. We are having a rustic church wedding in the mountains with an outdoor bbq reception in July.
Here are the contenders, with pros and cons:
#1, David’s Bridal F14169 in Truffle
the truffle matches the vests the groomsmen will be wearing with Jeans and white shirts
no cleavage, age appropriate
fun, but still slightly formal
the ruffles at the bottom are a nod to my super ruffled ball gown
light fabric great for summer
When I tried the dress on, it has an elastic adjustable band under the bust for all-day support
the top is boned, and reviewers say it can be too big up top for petite girls, or less endowed girls
Full price at $140 (I’m paying for both dresses), plus possible rush fee TBD
#2 Eden Bridal 7345 in Chocolate, with Sage or Latte Sash
More youthful style, fun
more ruffles like my dress
Light material, great for summer
More likely to be worn again for prom/etc
Full price at $138, plus rush of $15
if order by size charts, may need alterations $$
Could end up being short, as both girls are around 5’8″, extra length cut would cost and 6″ would be too long.
Online order from WeddingShoppeInc. Good reviews, but still makes me nervous.
#3 Alfred Angelo 7172 in Espresso
On SALE for $74.25, so even with rush is still less than others!!!
Cute summery shape, with wide straps for a bit more modesty
Sizing by size charts is almost exact to their measurments
Can add a sash, flower, or feather accent at waist and still be under cost of other dresses
Easily worn again to dance or prom
Neckline could be slightly too revealing for overly concerned grandparents. Not sure if pinning would help

Ok, Bees! You’re hired! Help me say yes to the dress!!
