@Anna10-05-2014: I really enjoyed Cancun when I went; the beach sand is so soft and white! Plus, you have an in-room jacuzzi!

Does the one in Jamaica have a view?

@Anna10-05-2014: I’m not a huge Mexico fan and Cancun is party city. I would hate that at any time but especially on my honeymoon. I love the Couples resorts (in fact, we are going to one for our honeymoon) so that is what I voted for.
If your main concern is price, there are lots of Groupon Getaways and Wag Jag Jaunts you should check out. Sites like Sell Off Vacations are great too. If price isn’t a concern, then I would recommend Fiji or Belize!

@Anna10-05-2014: I went to Couples Negril/Couples Swept Away on my weddingmoon. Every minute was pure bliss! I highly recommend. They take care of every little thing, and are so nice and helpful throughout the whole thing.

@Anna10-05-2014: I had friends who went to Couple’s Jamaica!
They said a LOT of the food was jerk or shellfish (they couldn’t eat shellfish because of his extreme allergy, ans she didn’t like jerk, so they didn’t like that)
But they said it was great! Until they got hit by a hurricane in the middle of the honeymoon and the entire island shut down…

Ive been to cancun and jamaica with my Darling Husband. Cancun was very nice – but didnt feel very honeymooney. Jamaica was beautiful, fun, romantic, and more private.

I’ve been to Couples Tower Isle twice (March 2012 and this past March) and we really loved it (enough to go back the next year obviously). The food was always fantastic and the service was awesome (also, a big plus is that you CAN NOT tip at CTI-or any of the other Couples resorts. As opposed to Mexico where they expect a tip for everything [been to Mexico AIs 3 times]). The resort is also pretty small and we liked the feeling of not being just another number. A lot of the resort staff actually remembered our names and called us by name most of the time! The vibe at CTI is a bit more relaxed and layed back. But they did have some amazing parties and bands playing a lot.
CTI also includes some excursions (Glass Bottom Boat Tour, Dunns River Falls, Catmaran Cruise (booze cruise) and a shopping excursion).
Check out reviews on Tripadvisor for both so you can compare. If you have any questions about CTI though, feel free to ask!

I haven’t been to either destination, but I know people who have. They say that once you’ve been to Cancun, you’ll never want to go back to Jamaica. So, I vote Cancun!

@Anna10-05-2014: It looks like you get more for less in Cancun so that’s why I picked it. I love love Playacar in Mexico – have you looked there? Highly recommend the Riu Palace (http://www.riu.com/en/Paises/mexico/playa-del-carmen/hotel-riu-palace-mexico/index.jsp’ defer=’defer)
You really can’t go wrong, though. We just booked ours for an all-inclusive in Antigua – I’m so excited! And I’ve heard all-inclusives are the way to go for a honeymoon.
Best of luck!!!

You said you were looking for Reviews… Did you check out TripAdvisor ?
These two resorts are somewhat close in rankings, but I would have to say one is still better than the other:
The Golden Parnassus gets an 80% Thumbs Up from TA (means that 80% of the Guests who went rated it Very Good or Excellent). It is a 3-1/2 Star Property based on Amenities… and TA Members when ranking all of its qualities from 1 to 5 gave it an overall total of 4 Circles.
Couples Tower Isle gets 87% Thumbs Up from TA. It is a 4 Star Property, and TA Members gave it an overall total of 4-1/2 Circles. PLUS this property won a 2013 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, which means it was really well regarded by TA Members.
Clearly the winner between these two properties.
Hope this helps,

@Anna10-05-2014: Can I suggest that you take a look at the Excellence Riviera Cancun? IMPO it’s a big step up from the Golden Parnassus, plus it isn’t located in Cancun (which I personally am not a fan of). It’s adult’s only, and rates for Oct 2014 are $1806 for 7 nights in a standard room, or $2128 for 7 nights in a swim-up suite, which has an additional jacuzzi tub on the terrace. Unlimited a la carte dining is included at a choice of 8 restaurants, there’s a buffet plus a la carte for breakfast and buffet plus 2 a la cartes for lunch, and 24 hour room service, plus in-room wines and spirits, are included as standard. Excellence Playa Mujeres is a similar price, and is a more modern resort.

I voted for CTI, but I’m biased because we’re going there for our honeymoon next month. I haven’t been yet, but all I’ve seen are great reviews. One of the deciding factors was the great reviews for the food. A lot of the AI resorts I checked out had mediocre food reviews, but people seem to really like the food at CTI. Also, there are so many inclusions! I called a travel agent to see if she could get us a better deal than we were finding on the website, and even she was shocked at everything that was included at CTI for the price.
In case you haven’t found it yet, the Couples website has a message board where a lot of frequent guests post quite a bit, and it would probably answer a lot of questions you have about Couples: http://couples.com/mb/couples-main-message-board-2/

I much prefer Mexico over Jamaica so that would be an easy choice for me!

Couples! I’ve never been, but I’ve heard awesome things.
