I’d like to narrow my sauce selections down to 3. I’m having a late afternoon/evening wedding in the fall, about 80 guests, and we’re doing the food ourselves. I’m delegating the responsiblity (giving the recipes and ingredients, etc.) to a friend of the family (who’s a good cook!).
These are the pasta selections: Spaghetti, Farfalle (bowties), and tri-color Rotini.
These are my sauce ideas:
-Beefy Marinara (going with this one regardless, because it’s basic and kid-friendly),
-Orange Chicken w/ broccoli,
-Turkey Alfredo w/ roasted butternut squash (really want this one; it’s perfect for fall!),
-Cajun Shrimp Scampi w/ bell pepper,
-Mushroom Stroganoff w/ green beans (meat-less; don’t have any vegetarians though).
I love them all, but I need to select only 3, plus the marinara! Also, since each sauce has some kind of veggie, do I need to have a salad or fruit-&-cheese bar? (Also having a candy buffet.) Please help! Thanks, bees! Y’all are lifesavers! 🙂

I would say yes to salad or fruit in addition to the pasta. My votes are for everything but the orange chicken. I’m just not a fan. But that way you also have a red meat, a bird, sea food and a veggie.

Cool, that sound like a good plan! That way I have nothing really “Asian”; should I worry about that?

I like orange chicken, I just can’t picture it as a pasta. I don’t care for shrimp, but it’d be nice to have a seafood option, and the other two sound great.
I also say yes to salad or fruit (salad more than fruit).

I think a white sauce ( chicken or turkey alfredo), red sauce, and perhpas something with seafood would be great!
And definitely salads!

I’d say a pesto sauce, a rustic red sauce (think thick cut veggies), and maybe even a red and white sauce, or margharita sauce?

I agree with keeping it with one bird, one red meat, and one seafood. That way the meat eaters have an option, especially with dietary needs/wants, and if you have any vegetarians, most of them eat seafood. And I would do more salad over fruit. Salad and pasta go well together.

Pesto sauce with chicken sounds like a great addition to the list. Yes to the turkey alfredo with butternut squash and the cajun shrimp with bell peppers. I think serving salad would pair well with pasta. Something fresh to contrast with the pasta.

For the record, most vegetarians DO NOT eat seafood. I vote for a pesto. So good!
