Since I’ve purchased my dress, I’ve been putting a lot of thought into what I want to do for accessories. I’ve basically come to terms with the fact that I will need to have a dainty necklace (my dress is heavily beaded, so nothing busy about the neck) and Maid/Matron of Honor is of the opinion that I should invest that money in a really awesome hair accessory.
I want to say, right off, that I am not a veil person. So, this hair accessory has to be beautiful and hold it’s own.
First, my dress:
It is Ivory with Champagne accents.
Now, for the hairpiece contenders:
1. Custom Hair flower from Twigs and Honey, in a pretty peach color. $80 (I would most likely pick option 2 in peach and a 4″ across size)
2. Pearl and Rhinestone Feather clip. $52. This has a subtle sweetness to it, and also has a teensy bit of Russian net which could be an ‘ode to the veil that everyone seems to think I need. (seriously, it’s hard being a no-veil bride!) Bonus: The style is called “amore” which is going to be my new last name 🙂
3. Ivory hair flower with pearl and rhinestone center (4.5″ across). $32.

The feather one!! The feather one!!!

I think the 3rd one is perfect for your dress!

I think the 3rd one would be very pretty! And I think simple pearls are always a nice neck accessory 🙂

@arenyth: I have to agree on the necklace- I’m not sure if I want a solid strand of pearls, but most of the bridal necklaces I’m drawn to have pearls in them. There is just something so timeless about pearls. 🙂

@tinylittlebird: That last picture of the flower hair accessory would be perfect, I think.

I vote for #3. I think it would look really nice with your dress. I also agree with the dainty pearl necklace.

Thanks for all the input so far!

The pearl and feather one is amazing!

I love the pearl and feather one although the third one would probably match the best with your dress 🙂 Have you thought about a birdcage veil? It would be really cute and fun..just as another option!

@LovingMyMisterBarger: I have. I think they’re really fun and cute, and I’ve tried a few on, but Fiance has made it VERY clear that he dislikes them and doesn’t want me to have something over my face. (He hasn’t seen me in one, but I’ve shown him pictures and he is adamantly against it)
I did try them on again when I ordered my dress, and Maid/Matron of Honor tried to convince me that it would be ok, but the store owner said that if Fiance doesn’t like it, then I shouldn’t waste my money on it.

As much as I LOVE the feather one, I think the third one compliments your dress (which is gorgeous, btw) more.

@IlsaLund: Awwww… Thank you so much! It’s even prettier when you can actually see the detail at the bottom. I’m super short (obviously) so it will be proportioned better when i get my actual dress in.
Also, I found out earlier that I can get #3 custom made a little smaller (the size was my main draw back) so I think it’s certainly one of my best options at this point 🙂

I adore the second one the pearl feather rhinestone thingy
It could be because it has all the elements that I’m focusing on.
But it is sooooooo classy and elegant but the feathers make it fun too

I had a twigs and honey hair flower and absolutly LOVED it. I had her customize one for me and it could not have been more perfect. I say go with twigs and honey.
