A solitaire for sure. A stone that large should stand on its own!

heres mine with some side stones 🙂passthepasta:

I agree. At this point in my life, I’d choose a simple, elegant, 6 or 4-prong solitaire with plain band (but not too thin):

Good luck finding the perfect ring for you, OP!

I have a 1.51 center stone in a halo and adore it, but I’m of the opinion that bigger is better  Mine is set in the Tacori HT 2522 setting and I absolutely love it. It really enhances the stone more than detracts from it.

FutureMrsHodgy:  I told my husband I wanted a solitaire. I have a round brilliant 1.7 stone set in platinum with a tapered knife edge 6 prong band. It’s very classic. It doesn’t look blingy if that’s what you’re after I’d probably do a halo.

It’s hard to photograph the setting. IRL it looks like one big stone almost and you can’t really see the different stones in the pave.

mrssloan2013:  I second this!

1.5 ct in a 6 prong setting is my ideal sweet spot for solitaires.

blushbliss:  I love the tapered 6 prong setting so much! If I had to choose a different setting than the one I have now, that would be it. Now that I think about it, the top view reminds me alot of your rose gold 6 prong solitaire 🙂

mrssloan2013:  ya it is sort of similar!  Mind you, my shank is a little less rounded which I wish it was.  I am super picky about my plain shanks.  Everytime you post your old solitaire (the rose gold one) I have a little moment of silence for it haha, I honestly love that setting!
