passthepasta:  Commenting to follow this thead — I have pretty much the same problem.  My boyfriend and I have a family diamond that’s 1.6 carats, and I think I’m suffering from overshopping, because I went from knowing what I wanted to having no idea!

passthepasta:  I would choose my second favorite setting – a 6 prong (preferably, but 4 prong would be OK too), high set solitaire, with a THIN pavé band. Like this one.. Ugh, it’s just BEAUTIFUL!

blushbliss:  aww yes I miss that ring so much. I swear it was the most comfortable ring ever, the shank was perfectly rounded. It was from Unique Settings of New York.

passthepasta:  My Round Brilliant center stone is a little over 2 carats. It’s set in a six-prong setting with pave on the shank, on the prongs, and on the basket. I would go with a simple four- or six-prong setting if I were you. I think halos and side stones are a bit much when paired with larger stones, but to each their own.

FantasticFawn:  Woah your ring is awesome! This is why I said it should’ve had its own thread by now LOL. I had no idea it had such beautiful details, love all the diamonds everywhere.

passthepasta:  I agree with PPs, I love solitaires (I’m obviously biased because I have one, too ).  I think they are classic, and give you lots of options for your wedding band.

Here’s mine, a 1.7 carat in a 6 prong solitaire in platinum.

Either a 6 prong solitaire or a solitaire with baguette side stones! Both are classic, stunning choices. I generally only like baguettes if the center stone is 1.5 ct+

I love both a halo and a solitaire! I think if you want extra bling and sparkle go with a halo, but if you like Classic beauty and simple styles maybe opt for a beautiful solitaire. Either way you really can’t go wrong! Can’t wait to see what you choose. Good luck x
