I love the classic look of a round solitaire with tapered baguettes, it just adds a little something extra.

I know what you mean about worrying a classic solitaire will be too plain. That’s why I chose a halo with plain shank! To me its the best of both worlds, a mixture of simple and blingy  ; -) the center is 1.65 carats. Goodluck

passthepasta:  Yeah, that’s why I didn’t choose a plain solitaire for my e-ring. I have one as a RHR though, but a very small dainty one. I’m kind of in between when it comes to bling. Either a pavé shank solitaire, or a plain shank halo is what I would choose if I were you.. I chose the plain shank halo for my e-ring. I think it’s the most beautiful setting as you get the best of both worlds (solitaire and halo), and it has the perfect amount of bling IMO, without being too flashy. I think I’m going to pair mine with a couple of veeery thin mixed metal pavé bands, and maybe a plain gold band too. I love stacks, and it’s the perfect way to dress it up or tone it down.<br />Let me know what you end up with – I’m always curious to hear 😉

6 prong is my favourite setting for Round Brilliant too! Here is mine…1.5 carat, band is rose gold and prong is white gold.

I can understand how hard is it to pick between solitaire and with the halo. I still can not decide after a year what I really want. When I had the halo I like how classic of the 6 prong solitaire looks, and when I had the halo I love how the halo make my diamond look so much bigger. I don’t have the halo one anymore. The halo is 1.24ct and the solitaire is 1.5ct. I went for the solitaire for a little bigger diamond and better color grade. For the solitaire I do not have a lot of good pictures. My finger is size 7-7.5 depends on the weather, but for the solitaire I have size 8.5 so i can wear on my third finger when I feel like it. I think for Asian, when engaged, the ring is wear on the thrid finger. I am not 100% sure tho.

Center stone with one halo.  Gorgeous – classic yet interesting and sparkly.

As for shape, I prefer princess-cut to round.
