Our entire relationship my FO has talked about this classic muscle car that he wants. So I’ve decided to get him one as a wedding/christmas/birthday for the next 10 years gift! I’m not sure exactly when to give it to him. We’re getting married on a friday and leaving on Sunday for the honeymoon. So he’ll have Saturday to tinker about with it. Here are my ideas… thoughts or ideas of your own?
1) Give it to him the day before the wedding (thanksgiving) so he has time to ‘play’ with it that day and the day after the wedding. And i can actually see his reaction.
2) Give him a box with a key in it and have it show up in the driveway the morning of the wedding. He’ll have time to go for a drive the morning of the wedding before getting ready. (although if it’s too early the photographer won’t be around to get any reaction shops which i would love to see)
3) Give him some kind of gift that hints at what I got him in the morning. Have the car as our “getaway car” at the church. I really like this idea because I’ll get to see his face when he sees it but am afraid he’ll be too focused on the car to worry about taking bridal party photos (we aren’t doing a first look, he’s totally against it)

I like the getaway car idea. I would say your hint gift shouldn’t be the key so that someone can drive the car to your venue and then hand you the keys. This idea would be cute too because your bridal party will have time to decorate the car with all the just married stuff.
I don’t think he’ll be focused on the car during bridal party photos, I think he will be focused on the amazing woman who got him his dream gift!
(that’s you, hehe)

I would have it delivered to the church to use as your getaway car. I would have the photographer ask the two of you and the wedding party to linger inside he church and have the guests line up on the stairs, blocking his initial view of the car. The photographer can then get in place to capture his “first look”.
Between marrying the love of his life and the gift of the car, he will have an amazing smile planted on his face for all of the pics.

Thanks guys! Do you think it will look bad to the guests that I bought him a car? We’re more financially stable than most of our friends and I don’t want to seem like we’re rubbing it in their faces.

No, you do what you want. Do not worry about what other people think. Enjoy!

I love idea number 3! That will make for some great pictures 🙂

Use it as the getaway car! He’ll be estatic!
I mean, *I’m* excited thinking about it!

I think it would be pretty cool if you used it as a getaway car, but maybe to get him to focus on the photos you could pretend like like you rented the car for the day (or even tell him before hand you are renting the car).
Then when you you pull up to the reception you could have the driver as your husband, “Mr—, where you you like me to park your car?”

I would have it be the getaway car, for sure. You have to post pictures if you do this, I would love to see his reaction! He’s a lucky man 🙂
