Yesterday my little sister (and best friend!) got engaged! I knew it was coming as her boyfriend had asked about rings, etc. but to have it actually happen and be official is amazing, and I am beyond thrilled for them both.
I need help coming up with a surprise for her. I know my family and they aren’t overly excited about much. My wedding was just 8 months ago, and I am afraid that they didn’t give her a great reaction when they broke the news yesterday. She said they were happy, but I could tell she was expecting more.
We live a few hours apart, and I want to surprise her. This weekend I am planning on driving the few hours to see her as a surprise. Her fiance (aww!) knows, and is going to stay with a friend that night so we have the apartment to ourselves.
I am planning on bringing her flowers, lots of bridal magazines, and some other cutesy things. She was an amazing maid of honor and I want to return the favor.
Any ideas for something I can do? Maybe get some of her girlfriends together for pizza, facials, and manicures? Or take her shopping and to a spa?

make her an engaged survival kit! include little things like a bride keychair and some magazines and a toy veil. if you have time make her some labels for the bridal shows too! vistaprint delivers so i usually order mailing labels for my friends that get engaged and have them sent to the house. 140 labels got me through more than a years worth of bridal shows!

@cr6zy: Love the label idea!!
I would definitely do a whole girls night. Order in, get some drinks, and have a great time!! If you are close to her friends, call them and have them come as well

@Linz1231: I think you should print off all of the extra little piddly stuff that people don’t think they are going to need like your list of ceremony reading ideas, or your list of To Do’s, your budget so she has something to base her budget off of, your list of guests, and anything else that you can to help her get a jump start.
Also, I know a lot of people don’t purchase a planning book anymore so maybe you could bring her a 3 ring binder and the items to create her own like tabs, plastic organizers, pens, and post its.

Some jewelry cleaner to keep that ring sparkly!

@peaches13:thats a big plus! i had to go buy my own lol
what about a binder with dividers or folders to organize her wedding ideas and paper work and you can pack it all into a big plastic bin that says something like “future mrs (last names) wedding stuff” i cant even count how many plastic tubs i have with wedding stuff in them lol. if she plans on being a diy bride yu could get her a gift card to the closest craft store too. they really should make craft stores 24 hours. idk how many times i needed ribbon in the middle of the night lol
