Have you tried them both on?
Ruching seems to be on the way out, while lace seems to be still in.
Its not my style so I cant help really otherwise. I would be looking for a less shiny dupion silk without ruching.
Something like this? http://www.justinalexanderbridal.com/wedding_dresses/8635

What kind of wedding are you having? Ours is a fun modern wedding (lots of bright colours) so I would choose the first for me.
The second dress would be perfect for a vintage wedding and better suited to muted tones.
Both are gorgeous in their own right, I’d just pick the one that fits most with the vision of your day.

Thanks janereaction! Ours will be a laid-back but romantic affair. Garden wedding and marquee reception in Aussie Fall (May). Colours are navy blue and blush pink and going for an overall romantic soft look while also being elegant with the navy. Im thinking the lace will suit best now that you have me thinking about the overall feel that we want for our day.

I looked again and I vote for the lace. Especially given your description of the day.
