We are doing a vintage themed wedding with a mixture of different shades of pink, lilac, cream and grey. We have silver toned table cloths an decorations with vintage crystal vases, silver bowls, silver coffe pots etc that are filled with roses in white, cream and pale pink. We have white chair covers with sashes in mauve. The BMs have chiffon dresses in a darker dusty pink, lilac and grey. I have a cream lace dress, and FH will have a black nehru, a silver vest and a lilac cravat that matches the sashes. We try to keep everything very non matchy like the vases and Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses as an example just to add to the vintage feeling.
Now I’m trying to decide which colors to use for the cake. The base can not be white because it is not made of sugar paste. I’m rather thinking of a pale peachy pink tone lika this cake
I’m afraid to do pink pink because it is a fine line between vintage pink and baby pink.
I want to have roses in this size and style but I’m not sure in which color
I want some contrast and I really like how white looks together with this peachy pink shade but I’m afraid that completely white roses will look dead and artificial. I don’t want dark lilac (if I had found chair sashes in a lighter dusty pink shade I would have bought that but I only found baby pink)
I was thinking that I should use white roses but paint the middle with a color, like this
Is this a good idea? Should I go with a light pink or light lilac centre (or both) or will it totally clash with the peachy pink.
