okayyy so I’m not sure what the protocol is as far as wedding colors go but I was under the impression that the reception napkins should match the bridesmaid dresses. My wedding is October 5th and I really wanna do tangerine dresses with chocolate brown napkins….what do you guys think!? Totally lame, or fun fall colors?

Pick your favorite colours!! Thats what I did! The dresses dont have to match the napkins either (mine arn’t). But make sure if you want chocolate brown, its that colour! My cousin did brown dresses with orange accients of colour (eg. the napkins, candles and flowers) and non of the oranges or browns matched, they were all different shades and ended up looking alittle halloweenish. But I do love the idea of having chocolate brown, it looks so nice for fall.

I have never heard of a rule that napkins match the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses!
I think brides may do it sometimes because its a way to bring in the color but you can alao do that with flowers, candles etc.
Have the napkin color you want.

@Paige425: i don’t think there’s a “rule” for napkins. your idea sounds great! especially for the fall.

if i was a bridesmaid, i think i’d die if my dress was the same color as the napkins! it’d feel as though they just cut off part of my dress and put it on the table. that being said, i agree with PP- just pick your favorite colors 🙂

I think those colors sound very nice. And, I would not worry about them matching the napkins….do what you want. Those colors go together enough for it not to make a difference.
