Our favors are mini potted succulents, much like these below:
We’re having cards printed, which we’ll assmble much like the above, on a stake that will have our name and wedding date on it, and on the back will have care instructions.
The instructions for succulents are SUPER easy. The tags taken from the plants when we purcahsed them say: “Care: Place in bright light, water thoroughly when dry”. That’s all.
Can you help me think of a cute way to word this? I was thinking of something whimsical maybe like “I’m a succulent, and I’m very easy to keep alive. Just put me in bright light, and water me thoroughly when dry!” but that sounds kinda…I don’t know…stupid.
Please share your ideas, I need some of your creativity!

@julies1949: That’s SO CUTE. Thank you!! I was trying so hard to come up with a cute little poem or something…you would think the English major in me would have been able to do it, but I think I’m too far deep into wedding-overload to think straight!

@13junebride: my mom grew a lot of the succulents from her jade plants. Others we bought at garden supply places, and at Lowes. It’s harder than you think to find small succulents that will fit nicely into a 2″ pot like we have! My mom had bookmarked some Etsy sellers for emergency purposes. Lowes had a really great prices, less than $1/plant.
We learned that succulents are SUPER popular…as soon as garden places got them in, they’d be gone that afternoon. It was a challenge to find enough variety.
I thought about peppering in small potted herbs. Those are even harder to come by. Unless you want to grow your own to get the perfect baby size (like I wanted), I wasn’t able to find a good place for herbs!
