My mom is having the hardest time finding a suitable dress to wear on the day of my wedding! Any bees have any good suggestions out there? My mom is in her 70’s and is very petite (about 5’0″ and probably 120 lbs) so it’s been hard to find a dress for her! Thanks!

There’s a MOB dress thread on here somewhere. I think one of the themes that emerged from that is that Nordstrom is a great place to look.
My mom looked everywhere, before finding hers on clearance at Belk. We looked at several department stores togther, and I remember seeing lots of great dresses in the petites section.
Most of the dresses you find for moms at bridal salons are too low-cut for most women in their 70s. Much better luck at dept. stores.

@ProfessorGirl: My mom found her dress at Nordstrom, too! She is very petite, 5’1” or so, but she ended up getting a dress that hit just below the knee so she did not need alterations. I would start at major department stores, they had a great range of dresses with varying levels of maturity/age appropriateness, and Nordstrom does in-house alterations.

I found my MOB dress at a local bridal salon. I was able to pick a dress I liked, in the length I liked (most had 3 length options), and in the exact color I wanted. That opened up so many more options for me. I chose a designer who had more youtful type dresses since I am only in my 40s, but more traditional type MOB dresses are easy to find.
