emb35543 :  I asked somebody at C&C this same question. They claim that there is no difference, but I still find it strange. She basically told me that buying directly from C&C, it’s guaranteed that the stone has not been altered.. but I’m not sure why another retailer (such as Moissaniteco) would alter the stone before selling it. They couldn’t give me a good reason as to why I should buy directly from them, other than that.

emb35543 :  I’ve just purchased an H&A from MoissaniteCo and I highly recommend them. MoissaniteCo is known for screening their stones for cut and quality while C&C has the opposite reputation.

emb35543 :  I bought my F1 from Moissaniteco.com and it is a beautiful stone. I had it sent to the jeweler who made my ring with no issues.

I reccomend them since like PP stated they do screen their stones for the best quality. You can even email to ask if you can see pictures to make sure you are getting one that is well cut.

emb35543 :  Maybe a bit odd, but its probably just a simple difference in markup/profit margin. You can buy the same item from Walmart and Macys, and Macy’s costs more. C&C has to spend a lot in development and marketing, especially after they lost their patent. So, they have a higher markup. MossinateCo is able to ‘use’ C&C’s marketing and count on volume.

Depending on carat, i suggest look at jtv fire moissanite, from research they are charles and colvard stones and u can always easily return, the jtv prices are a lot lower its set on sterling so just take the stone and reset it

C&C probably has a higher profit margin because they are selling you the stone directly, you’re paying for the ‘name’ basically. I would assume they sell to MoissaniteCo at wholesale prices and as glitterysala says, MoCo can piggyback off of their marketing while still making a good profit on their sales as they have such a wider range of settings people can choose from. I just bought a F1 H&A ring from MoCo and I couldn’t be more happy with my choice!

Hmm, my take is that C&C created the stones so they are making you pay for the name and the panache. It is kinda funny though, isn’t it? Usually it is the other way around. Companies buy direct from the source then charge more for them resale. But I guess since C&C manufactures and sells wholesale and direct to the public there’s the difference. They add in their margin. For what it’s worth, I love MoissaniteCo and bought a magnificent F1 from them. Highly recommend.
