I hear ya with the SYTTD reruns!  I only work two days a week at my full time job, so I have five days where I could be sitting around doing nothing, and sometimes I do!  One thing that I find motivates me on days where I definitely don’t want to go to the gym is I will wake up, eat breakfast, putz around and whatever and I always REALLY need to take a shower and do my hair and makeup before I feel “ready” for the day….so I make myself do a workout DVD (of late, it’s been 30 Day Shred) in my pajamas BEFORE I take a shower.  That way it’s done and out of the way before noon time the majority of the time.

The 30 Day Shred DVD is cheap and it really does help you tone up and lose inches!  After the first few times, I put the TV on mute and put on my own music though, because Jillian Michaels annoys the crap out of me with her stupid phrases.

Also, there are a lot of support threads and competition threads here on the Bee!  I know they recently did a Bee biggest loser….people start them all the time!  Talking to other people on here surprisingly gives quite a bit of motivation!

I completely understand where you’re coming from, since I was viewing the fitness board to try and get some motivations. I don’t think I have a lot of advice for you, though. The only things would be to try to start each day the same way, like with a walk and a healthy breakfast. Then you will be in a good mindset for the day, and if you fall off the wagon later in the day, at least you did something good.  The other advice would be a workout buddy, but if you just moved it might be hard to meet people.  And if you’re not feeling ambitious, it could be difficult to work out with a stranger.  But, you might find joining a sports league like kickball interesting: you can meet people and it doesn’t feel as much like exercise.

I program myself to believe that working out is not a choice but an obligation (like going to work).  i tell myself that I have NO choice but to work out.  I also fidn hings to do that are fun (i.e. volleyball, hiking witht he Fiance, etc).  Findign a friend with a similair schedule will help to (i.e. its rare that both of you won’t want to work out on the same day).  Also, starting is the hardest part as soon as you’re working out its generally fun and rewarding.  I was having motivation issues, so I joined a gym with more classes.  Let me know if any of that  helps, or PM me if you want to talk more about it.
