I did my own make up for our engagment pictures and it looked fine. Just make sure the foundation/base you use doesn’t have glimmer in it so you don’t look shiny and make it a little darker than normal. I think it will be fine!

I used a MUA and didn’t regret it (although your makeup looks pretty here).  My pictures turned out well because of it – but it is totally up to you!  Cameras have such a  tendency to make one look more pale than they actually are – and when I told my MUA that I was having a photo ‘shoot’ she applied my makeup heavier so that it would show through the pictures – and it looked natural because of the camera and its effects.  Good luck – and another recommendation I have is to wear bright colors so that everything offsets beautifully!

@sugarpea:  I think from looking at your picture, that you are totally fine without a MUA. You look really gorgeous! πŸ˜€

@sugarpea:  First of all, you are adorable!  Love the glasses πŸ™‚  Secondly, your make up looks GREAT – I’d def do DIY.

Your makeup looks great! I would add a hint of blush and maybe a deeper colored lip color, but I think it will photograph great!

I am also currently contemplating MUA or DIY for our engagement shoot. BUT I’m not as good as you at applying my own makeup haha!

I think you did a great job and wouldn’t want to rely on someone who takes 2 weeks to respond to emails.

My only pointers for your makeup would be extra blush and a more saturated lip color. Something bright or dark, depending on your outfits.

youtube has great makeup videos too!

You definitely can do it yourself (and I’m buying that mascara NOW!) πŸ™‚

i think you could do it yourself, definitely! i actually did get my makeup done a couple of weeks ago for our e-shoot and regretted it. it wasn’t worth the money and she rushed through it and i just wasn’t thrilled with the final result and wound up fixing most of it on my own anyway lol.
