Depending on your jeweler and what your insurance covers, it is very likely that this would be covered. Take your ring and all the paperwork for your insurance plan in to the jewelers and ask what they can do. It doesn’t hurt to ask!

What is the clarity of the diamond, and does the inclusion plot show anything at that spot? It could be an inclusion such as an indented natural.

I am sorry! I know that stinks! I would think insurance would cover it but don’t know for sure.

That sucks 🙁  I’d be pretty devestated myself!  If you and your Fiance decide not to claim it, you can always have the jeweler rotate your diamond so that the chip is located underneath a prong.  It sounds small enough that a prong can cover it…maybe out of sight, out of mind might do the trick! 🙂
