Prob left alone but keep a close eye for extreme swelling or foaming at the mouth (allergic reactions).  But seriously, stay in the same room as him for at least a couple of hours.

If it were say a dog or a horse, I would suggest a warm compound with some baking soda but that is more stressful for kitties and it’s best to leave them alone.

@napabridekelsey:

Most likely, if he was allergic, you would see the results nearly immediately, but for sure within 1/2 hour.

Glad he’s okay!

They used to sting my poor horse all the time when jumping cross country.  He step on nest sometimes and we’d have to run for our lives!

Toby got stung last year and the vet had us ice the sting, and then give him half a benadryl.  I’d call your vet though, it varies by animal I’m sure.

I just read the link provided.

Please DO NOT give you kitty antihistamine as it suggests.  The dosing are just too difficult without the Vet supervising.

Oh, man! I hope your baby feels better soon. Our gingerboy is very curious and got stung on the nose by a dying wasp last summer (he nosed at it before Darling Husband could clean it up). Just try to keep him comfortable, maybe ice his paw if he’ll let you.

@Oneeleven: Really? That was the first thing our vet suggested.  Hmmm….that’s the only time Toby has ever been stung.

@napabridekelsey:  Is kitty okay?  My cat got stung in the mouth one time when he ate a wasp.  He was uncomfortable for a little bit but then was fine.  We didn’t give him anything.

@Linz1231: I think it is fine if that is what your vet suggests and you seeked their advise
