@albamiranda28:  It’s really going to be best to go try different styles on. People often say they are set on one style or another, but end up going with something totally different once they see dresses on!

@albamiranda28:  Since youplus a plus size I would recommend David’s Bridal. Although, you would have to order it soon in order for the dress to arrive in time. Good luck!

Maggie Sottero has some gowns that are on their “priority” list that ship much sooner than the traditional gowns. They have a lot of mermaid and fit and flare gowns with corsets that would look great on your figure!

@albamiranda28:  You really need to try dresses on, each one will fit you differently.

When you go into a salon ask them what designers they have that can get a dress in less than 4 months.

Try Bonny Bridal (made for plus size girls)http://www.bonny.com/collections/unforgettable I was in love with this dress before I found my Maggie, it was so light.  You might even see if there are dresses that can be purchased off the rack. I

i ended up getting a different style than i thought i would.

as much as i hated my experience there and would never go back, i would recommend David’s Bridal. you can try on every style and they carry all different sizes.

i used DB as a starting point to see what I liked and then went else where. i went to 4 bridal salons before finding the one.

you will run into a time issue without paying extra for fast delivery. one place i went told me 8 months from ordering to delivery, where i got my dress was 5 months.

Oh my gosh! You’re beautiful! I love the pic of you in the black dress. You are going to be a gorgeous bride!!

I am plus size, and I had to order my dress six to eight months in advance. However, even bridal salons that do not order samples in plus sizes MAY have some plus size dresses on their sale racks (the store where I purchased mine did), since some brides end up not liking the dresses they ordered and order new dresses, and the store just keeps the original dresses and the deposit money. I did try on at least one dress in my size while I was there, but I wasn’t too fond of it.

I also think it’s wise for you to go to a store that carries plus-sized gowns, even if it’s just to get an idea of the style of gown you prefer and the size that you would need. (Because of my bust, I actually had to go up three to four sizes in bridal vs. the everyday size dress that I wore.)  Then, you would have an idea of what size you may need if you find a pre-owned dress online that you like and would be able to receive in time for your wedding.

I hope you find your dream dress!

You can buy my dress! 😉

I walked out of DB with a sample Vera Wang White gown (I was pretty shocked) that I’m not really sure I love anymore.  I think it’s an 18?  The dress is gorgeous, I just regret not going with one of the VW ballgowns I trried on.. 🙂

But, yeah, I agree with PP — try DB.  You may even be able to walk out of there with a dress the same day.

@albamiranda28:  My daughter is plus size and we found Bridal Celebration in New Braunfels, Texas to be a great place.  The girl that helped us was named Jordon.  They had plenty of dresses for her to try on.  We ended up getting everything there except shoes.  We had tried David’s Bridal and at our store they didn’t have a lot for her to try on.  Someone recommended Bridal Celebrations.  They have Maggie Sottero, Casablanca and several brands.  We ended up with a beautiful veil, hairpiece, gown, belt and bridesmaid dresses. The experience was like that on Say Yes to the Dress.  I don’t think this is too far from Houston, I think around 175 miles.

We drove 3 hours to get there and it was well worth it for us.
