I had my hair trial yesterday. The stylist did what I had asked, except she straigtened my hair, which I was open to, but didn’t expect. I had shown her photos of examples of what I wanted (but no one has the same curly hair as I do so it is hard to find exact examples).
Anyway, I want your opinion, here are a few pictures of the style that I like, what my hair looks like curly, and what the stylist did (it was also very hot and humid the day she did my hair so the straight hair frizzed, which is another concern for the wedding day): Should I have my hair straigthened or left natural?
I am a big fan of Mrs. Perfume’s side bun messy so I showed them these pics, there are also pics of my hair when it was shorter curly in an updo, longer curly on the side, and the hair trial (with me in my dress with my jewerly, becuase I had to see the full look put together of course!).

I would have left it natural. Plus I think there’s too much product in your hair, kind of crunchy looking. Humidity will have a play on your hair. Is there a way you can have a trial again without straightening your hair?

is that your blonde hair in the second photo? my hair is almost exactly like that! I say, leave it natural. For me its definitely tempting to straighten because its more manageable (let’s be real: curls are unruly), however I want to be able to look back at my photos and think “that was so me”.
I’ve also been eyeing the loose low or side buns while keeping my natural curls. If your hair is longer now, I absolutely adore using Taylor Swift as hair inspiration:
So natural and elegant!
**Edit – whoops! I didn’t see the second two photos you posted… your curls are a little tighter than mine. However your trial styling looks wonderful!

I like your hair in the 2nd photo in your 2nd post. So was that the one where you straighten it?

@Pinot Noir: Yes, that is me, they are all me except for the top (1st) that is Mrs. Perfume. I also showed the stylist a pic of Taylor Swift because she is one of the only celebs that has curly hair, but my curls are much tighter than hers.

Did she straighten it, then curl it? I’m confused. Do you want it curly? You can curl naturally curly hair, I do it to my bff’s all the time. It works well and holds a “structured” curl really well.
I agree I heart Mrs. P’s hair.

@Silveramos: I love the front and side but the back (which I assume is the 2nd picture from your 1st post) doesn’t seem much like Mrs. Perfumes. It looks like she pulled the curls apart and then pinned them. I think bigger curls pinned, not tighter might look better. My suggestion is to have your hair straightened since you have naturally tight curls, then have your hair curled into large curls and pinned together.

@Swiss Miss to Bee: Flat ironed it then used a curling iron on the ends, so those are not my natural curls.

I like the 2nd photo of you in your wedding dress, you’re beautiful. And leave it natural.

I don’t think there’s much more you can do. I understand where you are coming from completely. I have naturally curly hair too and at every trial I told them to use my natural curls. But at every trial and on my wedding day they straigtened it and then curled it with a curling iron. I came to the conclusion that that was how they had to do it to make it hold and I just gave up fighting them. You may have to do the same unfortunately. I do think it looks beautiful the way she styled it, but I understand how it’s not your normal curls.
