I have a quick question…. I’m having a hard time remembering my Fiance dress blues… I recall them being navy blue, but Fiance says they look black. Trying to work on my color scheme for the wedding but it’s kinda hard seeing as I don’t exactly remember what his uniform color is. (He only wore it once for like 10 mins).
I also need ideas on colora… I’m wearing ivory he’s wearing dress blues… what other color should i add???

You best bet is to google the uniform your Fiance will be wearing and find photos online. You’ll be able to see them in different lighting and how they photograph. Chances are they’re blue, but probably a dark (Navy) blue, hence looking black.

Im having a special cake topper made with a sailor on it for my Fiance and when I asked him about his dress blues he confirmed they are in fact black. So I would suggest going with black rather than a dark blue, like most do.

I will also confirm that dress blues in the Navy are in fact black. Why they call them dress blues is beyond me cause they are not blue or navy at all. This made it much easier for us, because we were doing black and white with touches of red!

@Kissingbride: & @Maries1987: I rescind my earlier comment. I’ve never actually seen those uniforms in person. Thanks for correcting me 🙂

Navy dress blues are actually BLACK!! I know it’s weird, I don’t get it either. I think it would still be nice to incorporate navy blue into the wedding though, no one would probably even realize there was a difference 🙂
