Hello! I am looking for an inexpensive wedding venue in the Sacramento area, I am willing to go up towards Placerville as well. Everytime I look for a venue I get discuraged because of the prices. My fiance and I are looking to get married in September or October 2015 but since we don’t have help from our families we are paying for the whole wedding ourselves. Therefore our budget is pretty low. I don’t mind doing my own decorations but I do want a rustic feel, maybe a barn or something outdoors. I would also like a place that will allow me to do both the ceramony and the reception. I would appericiate any help. Thank you so much!

What does “inexpensive” mean to you? We got married at Gold Hill Gardens, http://www.goldhillgardens.com , which is technically in Newcastle, but is close to Lincoln and Rocklin/Roseville. It is a GORGEOUS gorgeous GORGEOUS venue, and the owners are the nicest people. It’s not quite barn-rustic, but it is outdoors and they have a couple of different areas on their property (it’s 33-acres) including next to the creek under a giant oak tree. It’s inexpensive compared to many of the places around.

Are you planning on having a caterer too? We booked with Grace Vineyards in Galt. They also have a catering business as a package deal. The venue pricing is very reasonable, and the catering prices aren’t bad either. But catering is expensive so it reqlly depends if you were going that route. We looked at a few places in the Auburn area, are you guys interested in that area as well? We found one place that was reasonably priced. I’d have to go back through my stuff and find the name though.

How funny, gold hill gardens is the place I was thinking of but couldn’t remember the name. We met with them, they were so so so nice!

hyzenthlay: Our budget for the wedding is $5,000 so we need a venue that is going to be less than that so we are still able to get all the decorations, food, flowers, my dress, his tux, invintations, and wedding favors. Thank you!

scarlettbegonias87: We do plan on having a caterer, however most of the venues I looked up were out of our budget that had food included, however I will look it up. Thank you. And yes we were looking in Auburn as well.

I think Grace may be over your budget. Their cheapest plate is 23 bucks, plus 12 a head for wine and beer. All the venues I looked at were around 4k which wouldn’t leave enough to cover your other expenses. Unless the guest list is very intimate. There are so many gorgeous parks around Sac and surrounding areas, have you thought about going that route?

scarlettbegonias87: Aren’t they the nicest people? And their house/estate is just so beautiful.
shannonnn21: I don’t know if they’ll be able to fit into your budget, but if anyone is willing to work with you, it’s Mike & Cindy. Perhaps a Sunday ceremony, or a Friday one, or something like that. I can’t speak for them, but I highly recommend that you at least contact them. If you want to see what their place looks like, I’ve posted a recap with photos here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/recap-from-diy-summer-solstice-wedding-pic-heavy/

shannonnn21: What about Delta Diamond Farm in Isleton? I was a Maid/Matron of Honor for a wedding there 2 years ago and I heard they had great prices. My friend ended up paying 7,000 for her whole wedding.
