I really am not sure if anyone may be able to help! I am engaged and have set a wedding date for the end of October. My problem is that I am marrying my same sex partner in a state where gay marriage is not legal. I do not want to give up my fairy tale wedding but am not sure where weclay be able to be allowed to have aceremony. I know I can’t have a legal ceremony. I just want to have a ceremony so my friends and family can witness our commitment to one another. I want to do something outdoors but I’m totally at a loss!

You can have a ceremony any where you want! My Fiance and I live in Arizona, gay marriage isn’t legal here either. We have a chosen a major hotel chain for our ceremony and reception. When we went to look at venues there were some that seemed excited for us and others that seemed a little awkward. No venue said they wouldn’t hold our wedding there. The only problem is that you may have to supply your own officiant. I could tell which venues had experience holding same sex weddings because they would suggest an officiant for us. The venues with little to no experience with a same sex wedding just let us know that we would have to find our own.

Congratulations!! We’re having a ceremony at a Domaine in the middle of a vineyard in the South of France (I’m French). As suggested by lybarra, you could do it in a big hotel. A lot of places nowadays don’t care whether it’s a gay or straight marriage, they want the business, and I found that a lot of vendors we contacted are excited because we’d be their first same-sex wedding!

Congrats.. We are getting in a state where they have just passed a marriage Admendant against my marriage. I am having at a golf resort and we are having it closed to the public. Think of having somewhere public (museums, parks, aquariums) or major places (hotels, resorts) because most of those places can not say no. Remember your money is green like anyone elses.
