So, I fell in love with a colored bouquet featured on SMP, but I’ve already chosen my BMs dress/shoes and my dress and, well…it’s not going to match. Since I’m EXTREMELY clueless about flowers, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for my bridal bouquet that was light/happy feeling and still matched. For my BMs, I was going to have them carry clutches with a single flower from my bouquet sticking out of them, but that may not work out and they’ll need something too. I wanted a colored bouquet, but maybe I should just stick with ivory with a little bling (I don’t really like bling, but since my dress has a ton, maybe I should try to cool down/bling up my wedding)…
Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses/shoes (we’re changing the belts):
Bouquet I love that doesn’t really match :(:

I actually think that the bouquet you posted looks really good against the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. I say go for it! Things don’t have to be matchy-matchy to look good together. My bouquet had purple, blue and burgundy and my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses were teal.

I personally think the bouquet goes perfect with the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress!!

I’m definitely not trying to be matching at all :)…I’m just worried that the bouquet would look weird with my dress…maybe I’m reading too much into it. I was actually looking for ideas for myself…maybe instead of that for myself I could give those to my BMs and stick with ivory (even though color would be fun)?

@JoJo Bananas:Wow, your bouquets were beautiful!! I love your dresses as well 🙂

You may want to have more ivory flowers in yours, and a little bit of the other flowers for some pop. 🙂

Actually I think that bouquet matches quite well. Don’t limit yourself to ivory. Go wild with color! I’m thinking you could start with a big ball of white hydrangea and then add all the eclectic sassy stuff you can.
Here are some very different bouquets I think would look great with your dress (and a picture of purple globe thistle because it’s awesome). Hopefully this helps!

@jenbrandner: Thanks so much! Those are beautiful! I think I’ll take all of this inspiration down to my florist and see if she’s able to incorporate into something great!

I really like the bouquet that you posted and think it goes really well!

I think the one you posted would look great. My bouquets weren’t an exact match either, I think they more complimented my colors…I wanted the colors to stand out. I used black magic, orange and cream colored roses.

I think the bouquet from SMP looks great with the bridesmaids dresses. I see what you mean about it going with your wedding dress – the thistle in the bouquet looks a little edgy / rustic and I think your dress is really feminine, formal, and fanciful. Maybe a little formal for that bouquet? I think that if you really love it go for it anyhow, it looks great with the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and will never be held directly up against your dress anyhow. Or you could make Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets in those colors but somehow dress them up a bit or leave the blue thistle out and use a different dark blue element to tie that color in (even bring that color in via the bouquet’s ribbon handle).
