After getting invites printed twice by a company and both being wrong, I’m doing them myself. It’ll be a nightmare, but can it really get worse at this point. My invites have to go out this weekend. They were supposed to be mailed yesterday.
Is it expensive to get Kinkos or Office Depot to cut all my invites for me? I have a cutter, but would rather have someone else do it.
Please help. I’m trying not to lose my mind at this point.

I would definetly call around to Staples, Office Depot, and maybe even a local printer (other than the one that already messed them up). I agree it would be much faster to have someone else do it. Good luck.

I believe it’s $1 a cut from FedEx/Kinko’s. I’ve heard you can’t count on them to cut it perfectly though. This is horrible, but you can always buy one of those cutters from Michael’s yourself use it and return it. They never question your returns or heck even check if it’s used.

@yellowshoe: I have a paper cutter already, but I’m not very good with it. 🙁 And I definitely cannot afford $1 per cut. That’s ridiculous.
@RoyalLime: Thanks. I don’t have a staples near me. I guess I’ll see what Office Depot says.
OMG. This is awful.

@heather5743: Is there an Art Supply place or Scrapbooking store near you? Maybe they have cutters you can use for a small fee (like the sewing stores that let you rent sewing machines?)
Or maybe Michaels or Joanns can assist you, they usually have tools there for their classes etc.
Take a breath, it WILL be ok! A few days will not make or break your wedding, promise!

When I did my invites, I went to Kinkos and took over their paper cutter for about four hours. Their cutters are much better than the cheap craft ones. I was able to do three at a time.

Staples will charge a flat fee of $3.00 for cutting, plus a general flat fee of $2.00, but they won’t cut them all right away. Also, if you need them to be cut to an EXACT size (ie. they can’t be more than 3mm off), they probably won’t be able to do it. Kinkos & Office Depot use the same machines (bulk guilotinne cutters), so I doubt they would be much different.

@heather5743: When they charge $1/cut, it’s a bulk cut, though. Like, $1/cut but they can cut 100pp at once. If you have 200 invitations 2/pg, that’ll be 6 cuts per page & 100pp total, so really only $6.00.
Now, if you demand that they use the slider trimmer rather than the bulk guilottine cutter, they’ll charge more because they can only cut between 1-10pp at once. BUT you get better accuracy.
