i have just had a .75 round brilliant set in a cushion halo and the setting bugs me. My halo seems to surrond my center and you can clearly see the edges.
Does anyone have a less that 1ct round in a cushion with out a gap? If so could you please post some pictures and if you know the size of the center and halo give me that also.
All the halos I love are on 2+ carats so the probably have the size to overlap and leave no space or they are stock pics so probably photoshopped in some way! I need some real life pics to show the jeweller so he can make some adjustments.
Below is a pic of the look I wanted on top and my ring as is at the moment bottom. And maybe it won’t be possible due to the size of my center of the fact that it’s a round in a cushion but if it is I know you bees will be able to help me.

Your ring is very pretty, but I understand what you’re saying. I think part of the problem is the size of the stones in your halo. To achieve the proportions of your inspiration ring, I think you need smaller diamonds in the halo. Also, if you want absolutely no airline, you probably need a custom setting which allows the center stone to overlap the halo slightly.
I don’t have my ring yet, but I’m getting a halo too, love them! 😇 Mine will be an oval. Hopefully some of the other bees with rings similar to yours will share their pics.

It’s called a visible airline. It would bug me too. If you can afford a larger stone that would help. Otherwise just live with it or have it remade. I would use smaller diamonds for the halo.

unfortunately I can’t afford a larger diamond now. .75 was as far as the budget could go this time! Kind of sorry I didn’t look into mossinites before I went the diamond road but too late for that now! I am trying to come up with a solution with the Jewellers which is why I am hoping to get some real life pics to show him! If it’s not possible I will just live with it as I don’t dislike it, it just kind of bugs me if you get me!
I didn’t specify if it was a custom setting but just assumed it was as the ring was being made from scratch for me by my design. My mistake! I don’t mind smaller diamonds in the halo, I just don’t want to go down and still end up with a gap! Would love to see pics of yours once done!

I don’t have a mossinite so I have no idea how they look paired next to real diamonds and I have no idea how much they cost (the general vibe on here is you can pick one up pretty cheap)…if you love your setting except for the gap, maybe could replace the diamond with a larger mossinite and then later use your diamond for a pendant or something else?? Just a thought if you’ll have to spend a big chunk to rework your setting anyway. Maybe someone else that reads this will know how the two look on the same ring?? Your ring is beautiful though so maybe it’ll grow on you…

I don’t think that will be an option mamaofthree :
I have literally just got this last month and it was a new set for our 15th anniversary! I reset my original three stone ering into a pendent and earrings so if I did swap the center stones this diamond would end up kind of wasted, not to mention the cost! Eek.
if I can’t get the look I want I will live with as is, because It really is a beautiful ring. Only someone as picky as me (and probably most bees!) would be bugged by this as not one of my family or friends mentioned it, but none of them are into bling as much as I am!
So I am hoping to sort something out, I figured it can’t hurt to ask the question of the jeweller and that is why I am hoping to get some real life pics but if not I will be happy as is and maybe tell hubby to start saving for a center upgrade for our 20th! Ha ha. Below is a pic not zoomed in and with matching bands, I think it’s a bit less noticeable in real life!

Oh, I see. That makes sense! Well, I’m sure you’ll be happy either way because it is stunning with your bands!! Congrats on your 15th anniversary 😍!!!!

I agree w/ PPs that you may need the setting completely remade with the halo diamond melee being a touch smaller so as to create a smaller halo for the diamond to sit upon.

I think your actual center stone needs to sit higher and the halo itself needs to be closer. David Klass designed my ring and he had the center stone sit up much higher so that when viewed from the top it’s a seamless transition. If you look at the side view and the top my center stone blends into the halo.
I’m thinking like other PP’s you’ll need to have this remade with the halo being closer together.
