- Wedding: May 2011
We’re doing an old world travel theme – essentially, half vintage and half international travel. For our cocktail hour, we’re doing Latin, Pink Martini style music, and for dinner time, we’re doing Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, etc.
But for the prelude (the 40 minutes of music before the ceremony) I’d like to do something with an Irish flair (I’ve always been obsessed with Ireland, have written about it in my international affairs career, studied there, etc.). Should we do traditional Irish love songs? Or fiddle music – which is super fun and will make people happy and excited, but is it appropriate for a wedding?
Also, for my walk down the aisle, I’m torn between:
Mary Black, Fields of Gold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGDp2fy-nR4
Vitamin String Quartet, Hands Down: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofs1Jb4PXW0
Israel Kamakawiwo’ole OR Eva Cassidy’s Over the Rainbow.
Something else entirely?
Thank you all so much!!!!
