Weight Watchers. It’s easy to stick too and you can lose a ton of weight without starving yourself. I’ve lost 5 lbs in less than 3 weeks so far and I only journal on weekdays and allow myself 1 cheat day (usually Saturdays). If you don’t do that and stick to your exact amount of points per day, I’m sure you can lose even more.

Also, if you don’t want to do meetings you can just buy the deluxe member kit on Ebay and it will give you everything you need.

I am trying the Eat Right for your Type diet. You should look it up. You basically eat certain foods and avoid others but the people I know on it have lost weight fast. You dont have to count calories, you just have to avoid certain things.

Can’t spot reduce unfortuneately.

There are a zillion “diets” out there!

For me the fastest is low carb avoid the ” white devils” .You could cut out all refined foods ( white sugar, flour,  salt (high sodium) , packaged things and dairy) and stick to meats , greens/veggies, fruits and healhty carbs ( sweet potatoes, a little brown rice here or there). You will see phsyical results because of the water weight but it can come back fast with a cheat ๐Ÿ˜‰

Or if you like to eat a little bit of everything and anything, do a weight watchers type thing to keep you in line- the results wont be as fast but wil be steady and stay off if you keep with it.

And keep active ๐Ÿ™‚

I second joining Weight Watchers!  Are you breast feeding?  I’ve heard that helps with weight loss.  Also, Weight Watchers lets you eat more if you are. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Romantigua: I agree with the PP.  But cut yourself some slack-you just had a baby and you still have some time.

I started doing WeightWatchers online, and lost 11 pounds to tone myself up before my wedding!  You do really need to cut yourself some slack though…you just had a baby, girl!  I’ve learned that some days, you will just have to fall off of the wagon and eat what you want, but just get back on it the next day.  Also, the thing that works the best for me, also, is to not buy junk food.  If it’s not in the house, I’m not tempted to eat it!  Good luck!

First, you’re saying you’re 150 lbs?  Did I read that correctly?  K, if so, you will be amazed at how SLIMMING a bridal gown is on any frame of body.

I am a plus size bride, I currently weigh 236 lbs and in regular street clothes I just feel awful and think I look enormous.. but when I put that shaper bra on at David’s Bridal I swear that smooth off 30-40lbs off me and I was so shocked at how my body looked in the dresses I tried on (some made me look square, some wider, but ALOT of them made me super slim and added curves I never see in regular clothes).

You’re a new mom, if you’re breast feeding maybe check with your doctor to make sure you don’t lose nutrients to your baby, if youre not just look up different “diets” that you are comfortable with and can be managable for your life.

You can exercise at home on many everyday things (chairs, floor, steps, I’ve even seen some videos where people use lifting their baby as a “weight” and its just normal play time for the baby).

You have plenty of time until your wedding to dress shop, so if youre not comfortable doing it right now don’t.  Because you may have a bad experience if youre going in scared or overly nervous (like I was.. ).

Good luck on your progress!

Even though it doesn’t seem to make sense, eating very little food may make your body hold on to weight because it thinks it’s starving. You want to eat enough not to affect your metabolism and make sure the food you eat is healthy. Lifting weights will help you build lean muscle mass which will help you burn more calories. Some studies suggest that lifting weights before cardio can help you burn more calories during your workout, and whether that’s actually true or not I figure it can’t hurt! I have a 17mo daughter and it does take time to lose that belly weight, it seems to be the last to leave and the first to appear. Also, if you are wanting to look slimmer in any dress, a corset back is your friend!

High Protein breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a low cal snack between the two (make sure it has protein)

Not eating will make your body store fat and not eating enough protein while exercising will cause you to lose muscle mass.  Which is where protein comes in, your body will absorb carbs and junk faster than it will protein, protein will make you feel fuller longer because your body absorbs its slower.

I too don’t believe in diets. It’s all about lifestyle changes.

1. Exercise. Self-explanatory.

2. Cut out sugar. Period. You added belly fat by eating that ice cream. Undo the damage by reading food labels and see how much unneeded sugar is in everything we eat here in the US. It’s quite distrubing.

To a certain extent, I also think that genetics can be at play against some of us. While you may not have had a belly before pregnancy, pregnancy alone changes women’s shapes as well. As others said, cut yourself some slack here. Embrace your new family. No need to worry about numbers and a sometimes impossible ideal of beauty society puts upon us all. Just try to live as healthfully as you can! Good luck!

You can’t spot reduce.  You have to have an overall cardio and strength training workout that will help tone and burn fat.

(1) Don’t eat very little.  You need fuel to burn calories, and eating very little will just make you feel lethargic and not have the energy to go to the gym and do a high intensity workout.  Eat a balanced meal of fruits, veggies, and lean protein.  Every meal should be colorful and full of protein and healthy fats.  There are different studies that reducing carbs can be very beneficial when trying to lose weight; I have found it depends more on your body chemistry, but it’s definitely worth trying.

(2) HIIT with strength training.  High intensity interval training.  It’ll boost your heartrate and up your calorie burn.  Couple this is with a strength training regimen

(3) Eat smaller meals throughout the day.  I eat 150-250 calories every 2-3 hours for a total of about 1500 calories a day.

I’m not a doctor, or a dietician, or have any training other than my own experiences.  I’ve successfull lost almost 40 pounds and gone from a size 12 to a size 4 and I’ve kept it all off.  I continue to lose bits and pieces now, but I am much happier than I was.  Good luck!
