After almost 10 years together, my fiance and I are finally engaged. I am now looking for a venue for our reception. I have a limited budget, but I feel I should be able to find what I’m looking for in my price range. I would prefer November 2013, initally wanting the 9th, but very quickly noticing that a Friday evening reception would be cheaper I changed this. I will have approzimately 150-180 guests, I would like an evening wedding, and I would be willing to change my date again if the price is right. I would like to be under $15,000 5 hour open bar, and an open space for my guests. PROBLEM this is MUCH MUCH harder then I thought it would be!!! Sooooo, I would LOVE to hear from anyone that has suggestions for venue locations in NJ/PA that can meet my vision. I figured that I would need to be under (if not much more) $100/person (with tax) I’m getting so frustrated, need major advice!

@krbwedding: You should check out the Breakers in Spring Lake. I know they have a cocktail reception for under $100 pp. They also have a few other menu types, but I am not sure of the prices. Its a beautiful hotel on the water.
Since November is pretty late in the season for a beach wedding and your looking for a friday night, you could probably negotiate lower prices.

Seasons quoted me $110 including tax and gratuity,
There are many venues that meet your price range:
Tides Estate (I think)
like someone else mentioned…the Graycliff
If you go on the Knot then I think you can narrow them down by price range
Hope This Helps

My venue The Architects Club starts at $95/person but you may get a discount if you did a Friday wedding. It’s in Lopatcong/Phillipsburg. November might get a bit cold but they have a tented patio in addition to the dining room.

@skr5186: The Atrium is a much older venue and it is the LEAST expensive one I looked at. They quoted me $90/person. I work about 5 miles from it. The Atrium is definitely one of the least expensive venues in that area. They were the cheapest I called and include centerpieces which can save OP money.

Try Il Villaggio – if you’re open to moving dates around, I know they are very motivated to book September 1, 2013.

Look further down into South Jersey, the prices are cheaper down there. Specifically, look around at wineries and vineyards.
