Would you exchange your wedding ring, even if it’s going to be a pain in the butt?
I need some opinions, having a hard time making up my mind! I’m a recent newlywed. I’ve been noticing how my new ring constantly spins out of place. I’ve been kind of OCD about straightening it out so it lines up perfectly with my e-ring. Also, I never really liked how it looks from the side. The prongs look like a sprocket or a row of teeth to me. I think how a ring looks from the side is just as important as how it looks from the top!
Note: I will not get my rings fused together (the e ring is vintge and I don’t want to alter it, also I want to be able to sometimes wear the band alone), and I don’t want the rings to be sized down to stop the spinning—any size smaller and my finger will start to look puffy. Gross!
I figured an eternity ring (or almost eternity ring) would suit me better because I wouldn’t have to constantly turn it around. But they were way too expensive! At the time I bought my wedding ring, I thought I had tried on everything possible and exhausted all of my options in the entire city. I feel like I “settled” for it.
But I’ve been doing some research lately, and not only did I find more styles that I love, I also discovered white sapphires. The thing is, I don’t really care about diamonds AT ALL. But I do want natural gemstones (so no moissanite). If I had known before about white sapphires, that would have entirely changed my “hunt” for the perfect wedding ring! I could have afforded exactly what I wanted. If only I knew back then!
One final bummer: it’s too late to return the ring for a refund. I MIGHT be able to get store credit if I beg and plead. Maybe.
So before I go through the trouble of finding out if I can return my ring, I have three questions:
- Which ring in the photo below do you like the best? The two styles look so pretty from the top and from the side (to me)!
- Have you ever dealt with the Gemvara brand – any horror stories?
- For the swing ring, I can’t find one in all white-sapphire. Does anybody know who makes them?
- Would YOU be willing to change your new wedding ring right after the wedding? In a way, it has sentimental value since I literally just got married in it.
Sorry this is a very long post, but I’m pulling my hair out with indecision!!
