Definitely looks wonky….looks crooked and weird spacing between the stones.  I have no idea about the rest but I hope you can get it figured out 😊

latticedefect :  I do think it’s a bit chunky, and something is for sure off with the shape of the halo. The sides are uneven.

I would have it redone, perhaps by someone else… sorry bee!

I actually adore the chunkier halo, especially since you have a plain shank. Definitely doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard! That said, something is definitely odd about the corners. Hopefully it’s an easy fix, but I would definitely keep the look of the larger halo. I personally love when halo stones are substantial enough to look like individual stones vs teeny tiny ones that create an illusion of a bigger centre stone.

It does look like the sides are uneven. Other than that I think it’s beautiful

Your inspo pic is definitely very different from what you got. Is that what you initially showed the jeweler?

It seems like your best bet will be to look at premade settings – that’s a pretty common style and .5 carat is a standard size. There should be lots of premade settings that fit your center stone and that will allow you to try them on and see which style/size of halo suits you.

I actually quite like the chunky halo and I’m not usually a fan of halos. It would be too much for me personally, but I’m not really a bling-person. I like how it goes with your band because it looks a bit vintage-y almost.

Also, I must be blind because I can’t see the wonkiness of the corners. Not saying it’s not there, just my (totally untrained eye) wouldn’t notice it.

What size is your center stone?

Mi fingers are bigger than yours and the diamonds on my halo are super tiny and I get a ton of coverage.

I know my center stone is about 1.75-80 but I dont know the ones on my halo; however they are pretty small

I see what you are saying about the edge being different. It’s definitely not symmetrical!

As for the halo, I prefer smaller diamonds much like your inspiration pic. So to me, yours does look a bit chunky.
