I went browsing today for a Valentine’s gift for myself and I’ve fallen in love with these two necklaces. They’re very different styles yet they both speak to me. One is a solitaire pear shaped 0.57 ct E color VS1 and the other is more design based. Price wise, the solitaire is $770 less than the spiral design. The pictures do not do the pear justice though as it sparkles like crazy with its ideal cut. So do keep that in mind. I’ve also attached a stock photo of the spiral design to give you guys a clearer look of the design. Please help me choose between the two!

Personally I prefer the pear, but also I’m just not into random geometric designs (unless the spiral really means something to you). I think they both look good on you, but if it were me I’d choose the pear.

I love the simplicity and versatility of the pear!! 🙂 I’m also loving the placement of it. Looks so beautiful on you, bee!

Pear!!! Like PP, I’m also not into random shapes. I’m also headed because I too had a pear solitaire for my wedding, and haven’t taken it off since the wedding day 9 months ago! Though mine is smaller and bezeled.

As a current fashion piece to wear now, the spiral. For value and timelessness the pear, but I would want a longer chain.

Pear all the way! Also I love your top

Thanks for all the responses bees! Another reason why I’m indecisive between the two options is because the spira design is one of the brand’s recognizable design, sort of like the love or trinity collections from cartier. While the pear is super beautiful and probably one of the nicest looking pear shape ever, I feel that it could be purchased at a private jeweler as there is no design element to it. What do you bees think?

I actually really love the spiral! Do you mind if I ask what brand it is?

The spiral for sure. I really dont like the length of the chain on the pear necklace.

Yes, the pear could be purchased at any private jeweler, just as any diamond could be. That doesn’t change the fact that a diamond solitaire necklace is far, far preferable, branded or not, to most designs. Much like diamond stud earrings are far preferable to most designs, as well. And brands don’t matter much to most people looking at it unless it is immediately recognizable as Cartier Tiffany, Bulgari or VCA. Graff simply isn’t as recognizable to the general public. So unless the brand matters more to you than the aesthetics of the piece, I’d go with the pear.

diamondbeez : I think the spiral is much more interesting. I don’t understand people who say they like a pear shape but don’t like a random geometric shape… both a pear and circle are shapes. Makes no sense. Probably wouldn’t choose to wear it with a high neck though. I prefer necklaces on skin nowadays.

lola5 : the pear chain is a lot longer but I had to pull it higher up so I can see it against my skin instead of my white t shirt 🤣

diamondbeez : oh hands down I would go with the pear – there’s nothing like a gleaming quality stone sitting in the hollow near the collarbones. I wear a pear shaped ruby, so I’m completely biased.
But you can wear it all the time – And at the same time, it’s stunning and elegant. ❤️
