I would go for the pear, also because it’s a much better investment for you. That pear could end up being reset for future generations ect, but the spiral design may not always be fashionable.

diamondbeez :  Both are lovely! I like a similar spiral design from David Yurman, but I ultimately would go with a diamond pendant necklace as they’re more timeless. I also love pear shaped diamonds, so that’s another plus 🙂

The spiral looks like a Na Haku design which I love.   I would pick that one.    It would remind me of being in Hawaii and the waves.

The solitaire is nice, but I personally don’t like the pear shape.   I have a saphire and diamond pear shape that I never wear because it is scratchy on the ends.

Pear for sure. I find the other one to be a bit tacky honestly

The spiral is pretty, but to me there’s something so elegant about a solitaire pendant.  So the pear would be my choice.

I like the spiral. It looks more interesting to me. Too bad you can’t use both in a design xD best of both.

    I wouldn’t pay a brand premium for either. 🤷‍♀️

The first reminds me of those circle pave pendants that are in right now and that pretty much all jewelers carry.

The second is pretty (although I don’t like how it sits so high, looks too much like a choker to me), but looks like any solitaire pendant.

diamondbeez :  “Another reason why I’m indecisive between the two options is because the spira design is one of the brand’s recognizable design, sort of like the love or trinity collections from cartier. While the pear is super beautiful and probably one of the nicest looking pear shape ever, I feel that it could be purchased at a private jeweler as there is no design element to it. What do you bees think?”

It’s recognizable to a small demographic of people, if that’s what is important to you. You would probably be way overpaying for the specs of the pear for the certainty of its quality, something you can no doubt achieve by yourself for much less. I agree it’s something you can get anywhere.

From what you say, it sounds as if you like the spiral and want to be convinced. It’s a beautiful necklace, and also relatively timeless in design, so if you love it and will enjoy it for years to come, then go for it.

diamondbeez :  For those familiar with Graff, it is. For the majority of people? Graff jewelry simply isn’t recognizable. Like a PP mentioned, depending on your demographics, I’d bet that more people would NOT know what it was than would. But that’s beside the point if you love it. I wear multicolored tahitian and south sea pearls, and sometimes people tell me they like my “beads”. I thank them and move on. It doesn’t diminish my emjoyment of them because others don’t know what they are, and I imagine you wouldn’t feel any differently about the pendant if others didn’t recognize it.

And I am a very strong believer in the individuality of jewelry. It really doesn’t matter what others would choose if you love this piece. No one else will be wearing it, so get what YOU love.

diamondbeez :  Personally, with that added information… I’d go find a similar pear necklace I loved just as much for less at another retailer. But I’m not into wearing branded items (or items which stand out because of thei relationship to a brand as opposed to their design and craftsmanship), which I know is a personal preference. I’d rather wear a non-designer piece I really loved than a piece I liked alright and talked myself into bc it was by a famous designer.

That said, all of this is only valid bc I already prefer the pear design to the spiral design, which again is a personal preference. You should wear the one that makes you feel the most fabulous.

I love both, but the spiral design seems to catch the eye more despite how large the pear diamond is. I think both designs are timeless and elegant. But for some reason I think the spiral is a lot more appealing. Besides, you already said that you could find the pear for less elsewhere, whereas this is a branded design. You may find a similar one elsewhere, as circular pave necklaces aren’t uncommon, but if you want that spiral look, I think that’s the better choice.
