I just moved to TX last summer from the Northeast and have been desperately trying to find a venue for our wedding. We are looking to get married next March. Originally, we were looking in the Austin area, because that is where we’re located. Now, we’re leaning more towards Houston. My fiance is from there and has a lot of family still there. Plus, it’s a lot easier for my fam to get direct flights to Houston rather than Austin.
Does anyone have any suggestions for venues for me? I’m looking for something that we could have an outdoor ceremony. I’m also looking for something reasonable in price. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

How many guests? What date? Budget? Do you want an in house caterer or to bring in your own everything?

Look at the Gallery, they have indoor/outdoor space and allow outside catering I believe. The Bell Tower on 34th is GORGEOUS…but EXPENSIVE. There were a couple other more “Spainsh” style venues that we didn’t look at like Villa Rineta (sp???) My best advice is pick up a Houston Wedding’s magizine. Its a great resource for Houston vendors and its a great publication. You should be able to find it at Barnes and Noble (I just found it in Tyler a few weekends ago). We ended up going with a location in the League City/Dickinson area about 20 min south of Houston.

If you are not opposed to having it at a restaurant I had a friend have their ceremony and reception at Ouisie’s Table. It was so reasonable and the outdoor area is perfect for a ceremony. For about 100 people the reception cost $8000. I think Sat. are $10k min but the food is beyond compare and they really cater to your needs.

Oh and that $8k included dinner, drinks (alcohol too) and dessert. Is you have more than 100 people you probably won’t need to worry about the minimum but all of that will go towards actual food and drinks as there is no rental/venue fee.

Check out Oak Tree Manor- I’m getting married there this fall and it’s beautiful!!! You can get married under an enormous oak tree that’s a couple hundred years old, and there’s a 140-year-old bed & breakfast on the property too, as well as a brand-new reception hall. It’s run by a super sweet family and the prices are very reasonable.

I am getting married March 10 in a couple of weeks! We are getting married at the big Gazebo in the Heights in Marmion Park. It was so reasonable!! Our reception is at Ouisie’s table in River Oaks, and like the other PP said they also do ceremonies there.
Bell Tower is really nice, also in the Heights, I have two friends this year getting married there, one after the other.
I had my bridals done at Las Velas. It’s a spanish style venue in the Richmond area. OMG, it was BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLLLLL!!! There are indoor water fountains, stained glass, outdoor courtyards and the list goes on.
I also know you can get married on top of Minute Maid park, the baseball stadium. It’s actually a really cool view up there, you can have a reception as well.
GOOD LUCK!! Let us know what you find!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the input. We ended up deciding on a place in Austin, Star Hill Ranch.
